Lin isn't influential, but people know who the man is.

Tebow is the current most polarizing athletic figure in the world. People either love him or hate him with little middle ground and everyone discussing him. At least for 2010-11, he has been extremely influential.

Now Chelsea Handler, she can fall into a ditch.

You mean North America?

Who does he influence? And, to do what? Similarly, is Lin influencing Asian boys to play basketball? And, how will that have an impact on anything?

Of course you would need to have the talent and physical ability too but I dare say he probably influence many young Asian kids around the world.
The entire idea of influence is suspect. People influence my behavior each and everyday. What that adds up to though is an entirely different story. Delonte West influenced me to retch a little bit the other day. But in the scheme of things, it really didn't have a great impact. Just like Chinese kids picking up basketball instead of ping pong will not have much impact either.

Tebow is likely the most influential on this list. ON CAMERA he's doing and saying all the right things.

It's a popularity list, obviously. When I saw they had placed that nasty and sl***y Rihanna on the list, I really started to question Time's credibility.

What a bizarre list. Claire Danes?

TIME's content and credibility has been on the slide for some time, matching the decline in journalistic integrity and content worldwide.

The US is not the world. Outside of the US Tebow is pretty much an unknown.
Lin is atleast asian so he has that going for him...whatever good that might do.

That entire list is filled with a bunch of useless douchebags. Rihanna? Who gives a **** about her and her ****ty music. The most interesting part about her was when she leaked those nude photos.

I think you're massively overestimating Tim Tebow's name recognition outside of the US/people who follow Football. If I were to ask people on my local street in South East London, almost none of them would have heard of him, and they would almost certainly be Football fans. At most, 10% of the world knows who he is.

In terms of people with *real* influence, it's the top world leaders, bankers, donors to major political parties, media moguls, commanders of major forces and so on.
