Don't they have to be the favorites now? Everyone will expect them to "pull the road upset" and beat SF next week,
Well if everyone expects it, then it wouldn't quite be an upset now would it?
For better or for worse, Patriots are now the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Giants aren't even favored to win the conference right now, let alone the Super Bowl.

No, they have to go on the road to SF, but they could win. I will say this: I have concluded that Eli is a better big-game, clutch QB than his brother. Not whole career-wise, but in big games that count.
I think if we have a Superbowl 42 rematch I think they should be.
After all, since beating us in Superbowl 42, they also beat us at home WITHOUT Nicks and Bradshaw playing this season. What would they do on neutral turf with those two playing?
Disclaimer: I personally want a rematch and think we would defeat them in a rematch this season - I think we'll make adjustments necessary against them if we do happen to play but I don't see how they can consider the Patriots favorites if we get matched up against each other again.
I'd rather have all media talking about how the Giants smacked us around in those two games and (if they beat the 49ers) how they are on a roll, on a mission, Eli is elite, and how their elite pass rush will sack Brady 5 times. They would have to be favorites and let them have all the pressure on them going into that game.
Yes, I would not like the chances of Patriots IF, it came to Patriots vs. Giants in the SB.. Lost to Giants in last 2 plays against them, and in the final moments of the game!
I think a BIG matchup that media would love is: Ravens vs. 49ers
Remember guys, SF is playing confident as well. All week long it's going to be GIants this, Giants that, SF is going to be playing with a chip on their shoulders. Also, Frank Gore who is probably the MVP of the team was coming off an ankle injury the last time the Giants/niners played. Gore only had 6 carries, clearly limited by his ankle. The Giants have some wholes in their run defense as James Starks was tearing it up (Ryan Grant not so much).

"He’s the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. He goes from being a rookie that nobody is expecting anything from, to taking over with people saying he can’t do it, to winning three Super Bowls....It should already be obvious he’s the greatest quarterback to ever have played. "

The Patriots appear to be on more of a mission than anybody. 45-10 with a punt by the QB at the end was the biggest message of the weekend. Too bad it was against a mirage of a team.
The Patriots will be the SB favorite after this weekend.
I agree with everything else except the Patriots' additions on offense are better than the Giants' additions. The Patriots are completely different from 2008, too. The only defensive starter was Wilfork and I'm pretty sure Gronkowski and Hernandez and Branch and Woodhead amd BJGE, etc, etc. were not on offense. Keeping guys healthy is a huge factor going forward.
That Ed Reed injury after the bizarre overturn of the spot sucked. He's the glue to that Raven's secondary and should be on the field at Gillette next week but probably won't be.
The Ravens are suspect. That defense won because they picked off passes thrown by the backup to the backup to the backup. They did not look good against a crappy Texans' offense today. BJGE, Woodhead, Ridley and Hernandez might run wild against that defense, and Brady will torch those linebackers underneath and the defensive backfield if Ed Reed is out.
The Ravens looked slow on defense and Boldin and Rice bailed out Flacco. Anquan Boldin is a stud. He and Rice are great but are they enough?
They shouldn't be. They should be embarrassed that they were gift wrapped the ball FIVE times yesterday and still barely held on to win. The fact that the game was so exciting, especially at the end, masks the fact that it was really a game that was poorly played by both teams.

Brees' first INT was NOT gift wrapped. The niners safety made a fantastic play on the ball and a tremendous return. Give credit where credit is due.

He made a play on a ball that should not have been thrown where it was in the first place. I'm just saying they shouldn't be thumping their chests given the fact that still needed an almost miracle to win the game when they got 5 turnovers. And hoping for 5 turnovers is not really a bankable strategy against NY or NE.
