Default Malcolm Floyd was a free agent

I like him as a WR, would have been a nice addition. The offense is stacked, so can't complain.

when he can catch balls from Rivers, he can certainly do it from Brady too, But he seems injury prone..

Yes, then we'd get the whole "he can't get our system down" thing like we are experiencing with Ocho. it seems like the only WR whose antennas tune into the "Brady Channel" so they know what he is thinking, are the rare breeds like Welker and Moss.
Everyone else - Galloway, CJackson, and hopefully not 85, seem to struggle because either they are illiterate and can't understand the playbook or spend to much time on twitter and don't buy into the Patriots way.

Substitute the name of any vet receiver we have signed in the BB/Brady Era and you can make the statement above. Example:
If Donald Hayes can catch balls from Chris Weinke, he can certainly do it from Brady too.
Hayes was a tall, strong Big-10 WR who had been in the NFL for 3 years before we discovered he was an illiterate with no skills (my way of saying he couldn't catch on to our system).

I love the Pats, but these things annoy me to the point where it's hard to get excited when we draft/pick up a WR. I won't know if the guy is going to be the Oxford/Harvard/Patriots type or the Florida/any state school/any other team in the NFL type.

agree that we suck in drafting WR but these guys are in a way proven and BB always picks up guys as we seem to have a weird funk while drafting WRs.

Didn't we draft Chad Jackson, when Jennings was on the board

He would be Glass Floyd to the posters here if he played in NE.

he only signed a 2 year $5 deal, but whenever he jumps in the air, and makes an amazing catch....he hurts himself. His only healthy 16 game season was in 2009, in a 7 year career.

Yes. We like Malcolm Floyd here in SD...when he's playing. Most games he'll make some impressive catches then limp off to the sideline and stay out of the game for the rest of it, like we saw yesterday. He's too injury prone. Vincent Jackson on the other hand just keeps getting better and better every year. A.J. Smith should sign him quickly before other teams start a bidding war for him in the offseason.
