The guaranteed money on Michael Vick's brand-spanking-new, 6-year, $100 million contract is about $40 million.
...wow. I don't see this one panning out for them at all.

Too many years for a guy who relies so much on athleticism. 3-4 probably would of been better.

For those who followed his debt troubles, Vick still has major creditors and will end up pocketing less than a third of this money. I'm one who likes redemption stories and I'm fine with this new deal.
I think with the new rookie salaries the salaries of veterans and elite players are going to SPIKE. This is one reason I think it was a bargain the Patriots got Mankins for 8M a year, which is high under the old system but will be not too bad relatively speaking when we see more contracts in the future.
Not sure how to explain the new dynamics, but if rookies are making substantially less than they used to, the money should start flowing to other guys. Larry Fitzgerald's new deal is basically where all the contracts are headed with all this extra money freed up not going to rookies.

He should totally mail it in for the next two years, refuse to play in Andy Reid's schemes and then come to the Patriots when he gets cut... Then we'll change our entire offense to fit his skill set...

You sound like we should feel sorry for Vick only netting $13,000,000 because he owes money to his creditors. You mean the fact that he spent 27,000,000 he didn't have and now must pay it back is a reason to feel sorry for him?
