Default OT: You will love this - Jeff Fisher on Chargers

Fisher: Teams "don't particularly care for the Chargers"
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on December 23, 2009 4:37 PM ET

We are occasionally accused at PFT of making a big deal out of nothing.

With that in mind, here's a quote from Titans coach Jeff Fisher talking about this week's game against the Chargers that we don't think is a very big deal.

"We've had some great battles, great matchups, and didn't wind up on the winning side of any of them," Fisher said to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune. "... But I know there are some other teams I've heard of that don't particularly care for the Chargers. Maybe it's them."

Fisher, 0-5 against the Chargers, has been accused by San Diego players of instilling a physical/dirty mentality in his teams. The Chargers have occasionally been accused of the same thing. Like by Fisher, yesterday.

So there you go: Another pregame trash talk quote that adds spice to Friday's Titans-Chargers game. NFL Network should feel free to use the dig to promote the game.

Even if it's not a big deal.
Is he serious?

I think theres a lot of teams that don't like his team!

He has a point. The Chargers do play dirty sometimes, though not nearly as much as the Titans.

I still remember a cheap cut block on Rodney in open space against the Titans that put him out of the playoffs for us. The game meant nothing to the Titans that year. Slot receiver just dove at his knees.

Afterwards, Fisher and all the Titans said it was a clean hit. My eyes said it was a cheap attempt to injure.

Your eyes were right. Fisher was smiling afterward. That's kind of why I didn't mind the 59-0 blowout.

It was actually 61 - 0.... the refs blew a call where we sacked the QB in the endzone... I was listening to the broadcast on Sirius NFL as I had to be traveling that day..... We waz robbed for 2 points!

I will take to my grave that being the genesis and sole reason the Pats did not win a 4th Lombardi in 2006.

Yeah, I can dig that. Rodney even said himself that the Colts game would have been much different if he was in. He would have done a much better job at containing Dallas Clark, who was pretty much Manning's only weapon in the passing game in that contest.

All so bitterly true....

He's CRAZY ! Everyone loves the Chargers. They are the classiest organization of all-time !

Can you imagine if T. Dungy ever came out of retirement to lead the Chargers ??? Wow ! The overflow of charisma, courteousness, and overall goodwill would be so immense that Southern Cal would probably explode.

Fisher is just jealous.
