Well if the offense did not score all of those points the past few years where would this team be?
Look, I'm just not a fan of finesse offense or finesse football teams in general. Go root for the Colts if that's what you like. Give me a physical team that wins 17-14 every week based on offensive guile over brute repetitive plays based on superior talent.
The Patriot defenses in 2006 and 2007 were top 5 defenses, by the way. Look at their avg points given up and other measures.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but why are Pats fans celebrating a Denver Bronco's win? To me, the Broncos are like one of those mass-murders in a slasher moving. Kill him and he keeps coming back -- cue dun-dun-DUN-dun music -- to kill again.
Personally, I never want to see a Broncos win. It's like celebrating a Colts win to me.
Because I absolutely hate the Chargers. Well, I dislike their fans more than the team. The Chargers don't really have any competition in the west this year, so any victory by one of their opponents is fine with me. Hmm.. you think BB hates the Chargers too and that why he is stocking up all the other teams in the west with former Patriots.

Except for Woody Woodless Johnson I doubt Belichick hates anyone.

i nearly fell out of my chair during that play. what was Cincy thinking not having someone all the way back in that situation? oops, just realized that I put "Cincy" and "thinking" in the same sentence; my bad.
congrats to Josh. just don't win enough that you're in the hunt for the playoffs because then we'll have to kill you.

I didn't watch the entire game, but what was good for McDaniels is that his defense is worlds better than the Broncos defense last year (granted not saying much) and McDaniels took a play out of the Belichick handbook knowing the rules better than anyone else and getting his 18 seconds back.
Congrats Josh! They got a ways to go before they are going to be good, but they should be considerably better than most expect.
that was significant. something which wont be talked about

I don't know how great the 2007 defense really was. Maybe being ahead 52-7 at half time might have made life a little easier on our D, y'think? And for what it's worth, I prefer the gutsy grind 'em out victories, too. But I'll take a W any way we can get it.
