she didnt even bother filing criminal charges, went straight to where the cash is at.

How did you get that? Her lawyer filed papers Friday. What, do you think lawyers head to court the exact same day something happens? Where did you get "it took her a year to realize"? You have zero idea what has been going on behind the scenes and its not like one day she just popped up at the courthouse with a multi-page...multi-defendant law suit that hadn't ever occurred to her before. Ridiculous.

I'm not taking a side here, but the fact that no criminal charges were filed doesn't mean anything.

A lot of cases are declined by prosecutors because of the lack of evidence. If there's no rape kit, no witnesses, there's no evidence. Not all rape victims go to the hospital for a kit. In fact, I'd bet the majority of them don't. If they show up looking for criminal justice a week later, then guess what the prosecutor is going to say?
