Shanahan had three years and upwards of $20 million remaining on his contract.

Shanahan was the longest tenured coach in Broncos franchise history.
Not a lot of people saw that coming, even with the epic collapse.

That's pretty surprising, but man, they SUCKED this year. Don't be surprised if he becomes the next hottest thing on the market.

He was fired with years remaining on his contract, which means he's being bought out. Wouldn't surprise me if he takes a year off, at least, vs. jumping right into another job. I'm hoping both he and Cowher pass on the Green Beans.
