Default NFL.com writers choose Pro Bowlers

Randy Moss
Wes Welker
Steven Gostowski
Jerod Mayo
Logan Mankins

are the only pats I can remember....

nice to see wes and jerod get some love

btw, i would say cassel over jay cutler, who was unanimous
also, peyton should NOT be unanimous

Pat Kirwan listed Darrelle Revis twice. One right after another. I mean, I know they spent 3 minutes picking the guys whose name they heard the most this year but man, even if you look through it in 4 seconds that stands out.

Link?

5 Pro Bowlers sounds like a decent haul for the Pats.

Mayo will give me fits for years to come.

Great haul, IMO.. We would have had more, if there were less injuries on this team.

I think Wes Welker will be a regular player on the pro bowl circuit. He has been the most impressive player for NE this year, apart from Cassell as QB. Moss has also been really good and I hope he has great catches in the next two games, which are crucial for our playoff chances.

11 - 5 (I think that's where we'll be).. I hope the Ravens choke as also the Dolphins in their next games. Dallas is playing really well now, on offense as well as defense.

I'm sure this will sound totally homerific ...but how is Wes Welker not on every one of those guys lists?

I can't argue with Manning/Cutler/Rivers at QB, but how does Roethliberger get a vote as the top QB while Pennington doesn't get on a single ballot? And the LaDainian Tomlinson gets a #2 vote at RB? Is that a lifetime achievement award vote?

But those votes at WR are a total joke. They got it right with Andre Johnson being one or two on every vote, but Wes Welker should be among the top four on every ballot also. I have no idea how Houshmandzadeh makes the list this year, and Moss does not deserve a higher ranking than Johnson this season. And at tight end - a position where blocking is at least as important as receiving - it looks like the writers did zero research and simply voted on total yardage.

You can pretty much pencil in Andre Johnson, Brandon Marshall, and Reggie Wayne for 3 of the 4 WR spots in the AFC. The 4th spot will be between Wes Welker, Randy Moss, T.J Houshmandzadeh, and Hines Ward. I have this sick feeling in my stomach that Ward is going to be picked as the 4th guy, because even though he's statistically inferior to the aformentioned receivers, "Oh, he's such a tough player, he blocks, he likes to hit, he's always smiling, where would the Steelers be without him, blah blah blah".

It will be an injustice if Welker doesn't get in. Moss is better than Wayne, but ALP's logic is likely to prevail here.

Yea pretty good list although there are some pretty out there picks...LT at #2RB... Are you kidding?

Anyway noticed Seymour gote 1 vote for #3DE.
Wilfork also got 2 votes for #3 DT. That I can agree with.

As for the NFC:

No way Eli Manning should be unanimous, let alone going to the Pro Bowl... no picks for Rodgers? He Ryan and McNabb should all go there before Manning.
I have no idea how anyone ever picks Steve Smith over Greg Jennings (which 3/5 of those guys did).
Tommie Harris over Jay Ratliff at DT is a joke.
Lol @ Asanti Samuel
