I would trade Mallet for him.
Pats giving up: 2 years of a backup QB. What Mallet does post rookie contract in my opinion is not that important since we either won't get to see his talent here, or if we do, he'll want a huge contract.
Pats getting: a possible shutdown cb for cheap money for a year.
Jets giving up: the opposite of what the pats are getting
Jets getting: A possible franchise qb to compete with sanchez
Would it happen? Probably not. But in my opinion its a win-win. Jets get a chance to rebuild around a new QB, we get to solidify our defense and take home a trophy.
First of all, never say never. Patriots have traded within the division.
Uh, remember that Welker guy from Miami? That was a trade. Bledsoe to Bills, was a trade.
If Jets get the highest compensation from the Patriots, and the Patriots can extend Revis, it's possible.
Maybe Jets get our #1 pick and a player? Revis gets a 4yr/36m contract...
Anything is possible. Just a matter of whether BillB wants Revis or not.
I would love to get Revis, even if it costs us not to sign Welker. A shutdown CB is a key need for the Patriots.
