Default A Patriots Related Fantasy Football Question

I need to replace the injured Hakeem Nicks in my starting FF lineup. My two back-ups are Deion Branch and Rob Gronkowski. Who do you think is going to have a better game? My instinct is to go with Gronkowski because of his monster game two weeks ago (3 TDs and he was on my bench!!), but some games he gets zero catches. I haven't watched the Lions (other than knowing they have one offensive weapon and that's about it), so do you think our tight ends will have more receptions, or our WRs?

I think it's a toss up. As a general rule, I say don't play Patriots offensive players in fantasy football. All too often the scheme doesn't call for your player.

I do, however, have Mayo on D. He is a beast.

Without looking it up, my guess is that Branch usually outscores Gronkowski, making Branch the safer pick. I would think Gronkowski probably gives you a little more chance at a bigger number - but with that he also has more games with smaller FF numbers. Me, I'd go with the more sure thing - but you may view your start/sit decisions differently, especially with the last person in your starting lineup.

The last time I predicted a player was going to have a big game was againts the Browns.

I will never, never do that again.

I guess it all depends on what the scoring is in your league.

This offseason, it's almost like Belichick is saying, "I'm never going to let that happen again."

1 pt. every 10 yds; 6 pts. per TD.

Now I'm leaning towards Branch.
