Since the Pats only have 5 picks this year, I'll start the over/under at 12.5 draftees and 22.5 with UFAs.

A couple guys that could be mid to late round picks in next years draft are Alex Amidon WR Boston College and Darqueze Dennard CB Michigan State yes he is related to alfonzo theyre cousins. Both are juniors and having Alfonzo would definitely help Darqueze

Very intrigued about Darqueze. MSU plays a ton of press man without a lot of safety help. Would be interested in him with one of the 7s. Imagine if down the road the two Dennards are the starting outside corners both being 7th round picks.

yeah thats what i was thinking i feel like the two would work very well together and would probably be pretty competitive about being the better dennard.

Pats just signed former Philadelphia backup QB Mike Kafka to a reserve/futures contract:

Pats sign QB Kafka, DE Benard - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

Kafka, like Brian Hoyer, was considered potential trade bait this pre-season, but didn't generate any offers. He's a 25 year old 4th round pick, who played well for Philadelphia in limited action. He'd make a very good backup. Could this be a preparation to potentially trading Mallett? It certainly gives the Pats a viable backup option similar to Brian Hoyer that they didn't have before, and doesn't make them dependent on signing someone like Cassel.

Hmm, maybe, but I think it's more likely he thinks one of the soon to be head coaches or GMs may like Kafka. In that case it's like a free draft pick. I don't know, it's another option to think about.

YES!!

Yes...I...AM!!

Two notes, though...

1 ~ Humble Apologies for taking a day to get back: My @#$% "Service Provider" is up to some twisted brand of #$%&ery, and my Connection has been extremely sketchy, which caused me ~ indirectly ~ to not realize that anyone'd hit this Thread, since I had. Long story, and believe me you don't want to know...

2 ~ I'm FAR more spread out than I was a year ago, so I'm only NOW ~ as per Plan, more or less ~ REALLY getting into the Draft...And I've done about 6 months worth of Taping Reading & CrossChecking in the last week or so!!

Of course, that means that I'm still a few months behind...but catching up rapidly!!

Hoping to Toot a little Crack and Marathon my way into producing V1.0, this weekend...

Anybody in particular on your mind, Brother Knot??

Word is that he's going back to school next season unfortunately. Would be a nice consolation prize for not getting both McCourty twins though.
