After hearing this guy get more and more hyped, it seems that there is no way he will last to #7.
It seems that he would have to have a really bad workout at the combine for him to be available at 7.
it doesn't help that i could see every team above the pats taking him.

The physical specimes like him tend to really shoot up the ladder at the combine, unless he just is an idiot and bombs his interviews. I agree w/ Keegs, he'll be gone. The Jets will take him.
this is going to be a very interesting draft to say the least as it will be itnerested where mcfadden and matt ryan go. hopefully they go in the top 6 so someone drops to the pats.

hello Mr. Buttersworth.
For all intensive purposes, i tend to agree with you.

At this point in time a lot of people think Ellis, Dorsey, McFadden, C. Long, J. Long, and potentially Ryan are the "big" prospects. There are three pass rushing linemen currently ranked ahead of Gholston in that group. I think there is a very good chance that he will be there for the Pats. It also wouldn't surprise me if somewhere a CB vaults into that group (who doesn't love crazy athletes who can play DB?).
You know what I'd like to see? McFadden fall to the Jets.

I don't like Dungy and that's because he [was] the head coach of the Colts. Period. End of question. The degree to which I like a player or coach is predicated solely on the color of the laundry they wear on Sunday. When fans admit this and stop bashing players and coaches for any other reason, the world of sports will be infinitely improved.
i would be fine with McFadden being drafted by the Jets.
I like watching Mike Mayock and he is usually right. He kept talking about how he wouldn't even put McFadden in the top 20 b/c of his leg strength and how he just stops when he gets hit.
Let the Jets have him.
I really hope Jake Long drops, i could see the pats taking him and trading Kaczur for a ham sandwich and some cool ranch doritos.

Also, since when has the second rated DE/OLB been considered a lock to go in the top 6? I'm not saying he can't go in the top 6, but I believe your opinion (and the opinion of some others) is false.
You have it backwards, Gholston's a physical specimen and a raw player, so he needs to put up good/great numbers at the combine, or he could slip into the 8-10 range. The Jets selecting Sedric Ellis makes more sense by the way.
Frankly, I believe a lot of fans overrate him slightly. Yea, he was good in college and he's what you'd consider a physical specimen, but he needs to improve his tech, improve his pass coverage and range, and work on a few other areas of his game. The fact that he's raw could go in his favor (in that teams might be able to mold him), but it could (and probably should) go against his being selected in the top 5-8 picks. I don't like the idea of giving a huge contract to a conversion project who hasn't proved he can be an EVERY down 3-4 OLB.
