****. Yes.

I remember seeing him on ESPN talking about his dad selling, I mean recruiting, him to different schools and he described his decision to leave Blinn College as "I'm taking my talents to Auburn". The kid is a fraud to the highest degree and I so want to see him fail. The entire thing just stunk of a misguided and brattish, freak athlete who threw a fit because he would actually have to earn a starting spot and went on the run until someone handed it over.

With regard to Romeus, I'm very interested. A formerly projected top 10 pick indicates the level of talent and some bad luck with injuries is going to drive him down. As a mid-round pick you have to love the idea but I don't think he's work any of the top 4 picks we have.

Back has been cleared and hope is he will be working out for teams by mid-April. Seems kind of optimistic with knee injury.

He's not working out at the combine obviously.

Don't get me wrong, I would not burn a 1st rounder on him, but I would use a second rounder on him. I think he will need a few years before he amounts to anything as a QB.

I think he is very raw as a QB and can't read defenses and can't make calls, but does appear to be able to make all the throws and is a natural leader.

Nice points on both parts, Bro.

I'm certainly not 100% sure that Romeus would be the best fit, even assuming he fully recovers his health: He plays too high and with uninspiring Fluidity. However, he's got a lot of FirePower, he anchors well, and he's got the Size and Extension to become an exceptional Edge Setter, which is hard to come by in a guy who actually has Pass Rushing Skills.

Note: I've heard him pimping said skills ~ just yesterday, I believe. I'd much rather hear him talking about doing whatever it takes to help the team...But 9 times out of 10, that's just the difference between getting good "coaching" and bad: Coach Bill and his crew ~ if they're interested ~ will be able to wade through that nonsense in the interview, and discern his mental make up, I'm quite confident.

Well noted, sir. He'll be a fascinating story to follow, won't he?

I was high on Romeus a year ago, and I've kind of neglected him during the season and early part of the draft process.

However, every year the fan base is carping that we need the next Willie Mac. If the next Willie Mac is in this draft, it's Romeus. He needs to be coached up, and hopefully is willing to do so, but Willie Mac wasn't Willie Mac his first few seasons in the league either. Romeus might need some time to get healthy and unlearn a few things, but he could be a game-changer in our defense.

I think I like Romeus better than any OLB likely to be available after the first 20 picks. And the way this offseason is going, the fact that he won't be available for the start of the season may not matter.

BB will trade back one of his #1s or #2s for an extra #4 or #5 to pick this type of "IR" candidate.
