Using the CBS player rater list [updated 1/28/11] for draft rankings. Selections are made at +/- 3 of projection.

Trades are made using the standard value chart according to teams actual picks. I'll try to keep trades to a minimum to keep it more 'realistic'.

1st Round – #17 DE JJ Watt, Wisconsin. He's still my top targeted prospect in the 1st round. Cameron Jordan is out of reach after blowing up at the Senior Bowl practices.

1st Round – #28 My top candidate for a trade down. Teams will likely want to trade up for a QB here like a Gabbert or whatever flavor of the month signal caller rises up. #28 (660) TRADE DOWN with San Francisco for #45 (450) and #76 (210).

2nd Round – #33 OG/C Mike Pouncey, Florida. Supposedly the strongest interior OL prospect in the draft. We need to be prepared in case Mankins leaves.

2nd Round - #45 S Quinton Carter, Oklahoma. A solid all around safety with cover and run support skills.

2nd Round – #60 (300) + #92 (132) Trade up with Oakland for #48 (420). WR Leonard Hankerson, Miami. An impact player at the Senior Bowl. Runs good routes with excellent hands and knows how to create separation from the defender.

3rd Round – #74 DE Christian Ballard, Iowa. He is very active and quick for his size and could sub in for a 4 man pressure front on passing downs. Reminds me of a more athletic Jarvis Green.

3rd Round - #76 OLB Sam Acho, Texas. Seemed to be very active, causing all kinds of pressure at the Senior bowl. His stock may rise after his strong showing.

4th round - #123 RB Bilal Powell, Louisville. This guy surprised me by running hard, being very physical with his running and delivering blows to defenders. Could make a good alternative RB to BJGE with more speed. The one concerning knock against him is he might need to improve his ball security.

5th round - #156 CB Kendric Burney, North Carolina. Seems like the ideal slot/nickel DB. Seems to be smart and quick to find the ball.

6th round - #184 C Brandon Fusco, Slippery Rock. Small school kid but naturally strong and has a larger frame that could allow him to hold up better against the bigger DTs in the NFL. Could be a dark horse development project for Dante to coach up.

if jordan isn't available, i would trade down and get cameron heyward in the 2nd. maybe take carimi at 17 and then heyward.

Excellent job. Jordan is a stud who may fall to us. Carimi and Moffitt are strong picks as well who would certainly fill needs. I just hope Moffitt is there come 3a. Vincent Brown would be good value with nice potential. I'd be a tad dissapointed with drafting 2 rbs t be honest. I would like one drafted and one signed as a free agent.

JJ Watt has explosive potential, certainly a pick I'd be happy with if Jordan or Clayborn are off the board. One of my 3 favorites to get to the passer

Pouncey is strong and versatile I'd be happy with him depending on who was still on the board of course. Carimi would be my first choice followed by Pouncey and then Wisniewski. Man we are in great position to fill needs aren't we?

Carter at safety is definately an undervalued need that would help this team right away. I don't see Merriweather sticking around much longer. Even if he does we need depth.

Hankerson is quickly becoming a favorite around here. Deservedly so, he has blown up this week when put front and center. Problem is he is not an unknown commodity anymore. He isn't lasting to 60.

Christian Ballard is hard to gauge. Played with 2 good players up front. 1 which was drawing double and triple teams. Would be interesting to see how he does with a Te chipping away at him. 3rd round? Not me. I'm gonna try to pull another guard or center here. Too much need and value at this spot.

Sam Acho played out of his mind tonight. He would be a bargain if not a steal at this spot. He might fall, you never know?

i'll have to rdo it, i didn't realize delone carter practically beat a student into a coma over a thrown snowball. probably not a good pick. i like leshoure as a rb, unlike others...but that would be a high pick.

I am thinking the opposite. #28 is the sweet spot and #17 is excellent trade bait.

I think you're relying on an outdated report. All of the reports I've read say that he plucks the ball with his hands and has good hands. His improvement is probably due to the training he received under former Miami WR Mark Duper. Have you seen his training videos? This guy is a very hard worker and was basically the only reliable impact player on an otherwise poor Miami offense.

My only concern about Brown is that he's not particularly tall and doesn't look particularly fast. He looks like he'll be a good player but what does he offer us that Branch or Price already wouldn't?
Which is why I think Hankerson is a better choice. He adds a differnet dimension to the offense. Hankerson is taller and has very long arms (33"). He can go up into the air and make some athletic plays that our other receivers can't.
"Big play ability: Starts off slow, but has good top end speed because of his long stride. Is a huge threat deep down the field. Is a smooth runner that can lull defenders to sleep. Does well with the ball in his hands. Isn’t very elusive or quick, but can pick up yards after the catch by using his size and strength. Requires a lot of attention in the redzone."

The title just indicates that my perceptions on the prospects has changed since the Senior Bowl. As it will change after the Combine. And I'll do another mock after that as well.

I probably should have indicated it more clearly, but I moved up to select Hankerson at #48 by trading picks #60 and #92.


I respectfully disagree because the way the ranking list is currently configured I see VERY similar talent available in the second round as in the late first round. #17 is our best chance to land an impact starter at DE. The prospects at #28 don't look any better than the ones at #33, so why pay 1st round money when you can trade down and get extra picks as well.
