love it...that would be a great draft imo. Austin Pettis would be a great add to the Pats. He is a player
That is a very good mock for the Patriots and for what I know now about the players, I'd be happy with that.

I like Houston and Havili but the other picks are questionable IMO considering there is no 3-4 DE in relevant rounds.
Ingram - Too high for RB Could be true, but I'm starting to become enamored with Ingram. I also think RB is a huge need at this point.
Wisniewski - OT and OG are higher priorities than C. Wisniewski is the best center in the draft, but he also can play OG. I was thinking to start him there and next year take over for Koppen who's contract is up
Danny Watkins will be 27 yrs old later this year and is still raw talent. He's older than half the current OL. I didn't know that. Makes him look like Kaczur 2.0. He is the type of OL Dante loves tho
Marcus Cannon is projected to be a Guard not a tackle. We need guards dont we? Anyone who can play multiple positions will have higher value. Dante also loves his huge OL i.e. Wesley Britt
Sash - We need a FS as James Sanders, Chung, and Sergio Brown are all SS. makes sense if you feel they've already replaced McGowan
Parker - Until the East-West game was considered a UDFA He was rated much higher in the ratings board we were given
Brown - Has progressivly gotten worse over his career. lacks discipline. This is a pure high risk/reward pick. No doubt about it.
I feel obligated to supply more detail into why I made these picks

Very nice indeed. IF Jordan can really be an every-down DE, I really like how this all comes together. I'd much rather try to develop a mid-late center or two for the next year as Koppen plays out his contract rather than overdraft Wisniewski, who has trouble in the shotgun. (Maybe consider an RB in place of the 2nd WR, though?)
Perhaps Kendall Hunter RB Okla St.
I really like that Vincent Brown catches the ball with his hands. If its within his range, he is coming down with the ball. Titus Young is a polished receiver and his routes are impeccable.

Well I would have first gone all in and got Woodley as our OLB casting off Light and Mankins but the draft may be more important if FA comes afterwards. That said--assume we are going after Woodley
Trade 17 for 22 and 86
22-DE Watt-5 technique replacement for Seymour
28-OT Carimi-Both from Wisconsin-Vollmer to LT
33-G-Pouncey-we love UF guys!-Mankins spot
60-OLB Carter--UNC--unique athlete-Small/fast designated pass rusher
74-traded for a 2nd in 12 and 142
86-traded for a 2nd in 12
92-traded for a 2nd in 12
123-RB-Devine WV-4.3 burner
142-RB-Ridley LSU--Thumper back
156-CB-BURNEY--my Binkie and another UNC guy
184-G-Hurd HUGE guy from Uconn for practice squad
I think this would address the lines, the OLBs, RBs and sets us up pretty well if we cant resign our OL. 3 #2s for next year, 4 players in the top 60, 3 starters and a situational guy. The RB by commitee has more members and watch Burney rise....no way he is a 5th rd pick.

Even though tackle is not a huge need if Light returns, you're going to have a very hard time passing on players like Carimi and Solder in this draft, who are such great values (Solder at #17 and Carimi at #28). In many other drafts, these guys go higher. Carimi might actually be good for guard initially.
Trading Picks 17, 60 and 92 to Dallas for 9 and 140.
(Nate Solder, Muhammed Wilkerson, Jerrell Powe to Dallas
Trading Pick 33 to Detroit for 44, 106 and 2012 6th rounder.
(Jimmy Smith CB to Detroit)
After Trading Final Mock Draft
9) Marcell Dareus DT/DE Alabama - 5-Tech RDE Richard Seymour replacement
28) Gabe Carimi OT Wisconsin - RT of future. Vollmer moves to LT. Could play OG too.
44) Phil Talyor DT Baylor – NT/DE depth had Monster Senior Bowl week
74) Pernell McPhee DE/OLB Miss St – Solid Pass Rusher 3-4 OLB or DE in 4-3 fronts.
106) Owen Marecic FB/ILB – Most versatile football player in the draft
123) John Moffitt OG/C Wisconsin – Versatile OL that can play C or OG
140) Deunta Williams S UNC – Safety that can play both SS and FS positions
156) Kendric Burney CB UNC – Had a very good Senior Bowl week. Nickel CB.
188) Rickey Stanzi QB Iowa – QB to push Bryan Hoyer for backup job
Lets' start the annual series of draft games.Don't worry about looking foolish, I do it for a living and am still standing.
So here's how it will work this time.
Using the list below, make your Patriots picks. For picks 17,28,& 33 you can choose a player ranked no more than 3 slots ahead (#17 you can go up to #14 but no higher and so on and so forth) After those picks you can go up 5 places but no higher.
NO MOCKING ANYONE'S MOCK UNTIL YOU HAVE POSTED YOUR MOCK SO IT CAN BE EQUALLY MOCKED.
There are no winners or losers unless you are a Jets fan. this is just to see where the thinking is for players at this time.
I disagree with some of the ratings, however, got to use something.
17 Nate Solder T Colorado
28 Cameron Jordan DE California
33 Jon Baldwin WR Pittsburgh – would be a steal here
60 Danny Watkins G Baylor – may be too old for BB
74 Ras-I Dowling FS Virginia
92 Jerrell Powe NT Mississippi
123 Brooks Reed OLB Arizona
156 Ricky Elmore OLB Arizona
184 David Carter DE UCLA
All picks are in High Priority Positions with the exception of ILB Kelvin Sheppard who I could make room for on any defense.
Offensive skill players have no place in my draft this year. Build that area from UDFAs, Trades, Street Scrubs...whatever.
