War Room analysis
Strengths: Shows good quickness to get downfield to block on screen passes. Uses hands well, rarely allowing defenders to get into pads. Shows solid technique in pass protection. Is smart and adept at picking up stunts and blitzes. Is patient and lets pass rushers come to him. Is an efficient run blocker.

Weaknesses: Struggles to make blocks in open field; allows feet to get too close together and loses balance. Gets tossed aside by defenders in open field. Must add bulk to handle NFL defensive linemen. Must learn to maintain blocks a tad longer.

Bottom line: Oldenburg, a left tackle in college, projects as an NFL right tackle. He shows good technique, athleticism and smarts to become a solid backup.

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports Colorado State OT Clint Oldenburg measured a height of 6-foot-5 1/8 and a weight of 300 pounds at his Pro Day. He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.26 seconds and 5.29 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.74 seconds and the three-cone drill in 8.19 seconds. He measured a 30-inch vertical jump and an 8-foot-5 broad jump.

He is competition for Britt. More likely he will be on Practice Squad and cut like Stevenson last year. We did need camp competition and a youngster in case of injuries, since our other OT practice squad player retired.

I agree but I wish they drafted bigger interior lineman to develop. With so many teams witching to a 3-4 def a mauler at RG will come in handy in a few years.
