Waters was supposed to have worked out on Tuesday, though there were rumors floating around he'd have to postpone again. This was a highly anticipated workout because Waters was considered a potential 1st round pick before he tore his knee up in the 1st game of the 2006 season.

Duee to injury, Waters was unable to attend the Combine or work out at Clemson's Pro Day on March 13. Although still not 100 percent, he had a personal workout at Clemson on April 3, running outdoors on FieldTurf. Twenty NFL teams were represented. Waters (238 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.69. He also had a 34½-inch vertical jump. He didn't so the long jump or any other sprints but did well in position drills.
pretty good #s considering how much time hes missed

Solo show. In his first and only timed test for NFL scouts, former linebacker Anthony Waters ran a 4.62-second 40-yard-dash time during his individual workout Tuesday morning, about a tenth of a second higher than his pre-injury best.
Waters (6-foot-3, 240 pounds), one of the few linebackers in this year's crop who can play inside for teams that have either 3-4 or 4-3 schemes, is six months removed from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
He skipped the NFL Combine in February and Clemson’s March 13 pro-day workout while rehabilitating.
Representatives from 18 teams were on hand for the workout, including Carolina defensive coordinator Mike Trgovac.
"If he were a mid-rounder, there wouldn't have been as many people show up," said Michael Brown, one of Waters' agents.
Waters did eight position drills and the vertical jump (34½ inches) but skipped other routine running drills. He has interviews scheduled with San Diego, Dallas, Saint Louis and the New York Jets before the April 28-29 draft.
4.6-4.7/40 is good, his weight is too light for my profile, I wish we had a current height to get a better feel for his potential to carry additional weight. Too bad the knee isn't ready for change of direction testing, I find those better than the 40 when assessing a candidate.

Good, now maybe NE picking him in the 5th will actually happen, lol!

He's 6'2.5" He can carry additional weight, he was 245lbs at the combine.

Waters is 6'2 5/8" tall. If he weighed in at 239, then he's lost 6 lbs since the combine.
Waters did attend the combine and was measured and weighed, though he did not partake in any drills other than the bench press.

I can carry additional weight, just not all of it is muscle. That said, 6'2 1/2" is likely a better frame to pack the muscle on, particularly for a guy who is coming off a rehab regimen where extra weight would be a negative.

Under the circumstances, those look like good numbers all around. Waters' strengths seem like a good fit -- strong with his hands, sheds blockers, nose for the ball in traffic. If the team emerges from the opening rounds without an ILB, he'd be an attractive target.
