Default Could Mike Griffin be the best "S" fit for NE?

Considering Revis and Willis are both gone by the time we pick, could Griffin be the BPA on the pats board?? I REALLY love Griffins game.

He is a nice mix of "intelligence", "aggressiveness", "versatility", and "leadership ability"; a proto-typical Bill Belichick DB.

Griffin is talented enough to make an immediate impact in our secondary. I think he would thrive under the tutelage of Harrison.

Like Rodney, he possesses a natural ability to recognize plays immediately, and is swift in pursuit of the action.

In addition to having solid coverage and “ball hawking” skills, he is also a tremendous Special Teams player, with a knack for blocking punts.

Check out his highlight reel... watch the "Heads up" play he makes @ :31 seconds into the video. -Griffin Link-

(Everybody loves a WINNER...)

I'm just not shopping for a 200 lb. FS, especially in the first round. I like the 220 lb laddies who start showing up in the third round since I'm looking for another SS who can play FS, LB, maybe "big" CB because there are a couple of them too, and Special Teams. Griffin & Nelson sound like good kids, but they aren't what I hungry for - beef.

I think he falls in the first round. Wouldn't mind Hall at all.

i think Landry would obviously be the best fit but 2nd would probably be Griffin. i wanna say Meriweather but people would get on me about his stomping incident so i wont bother

but take it away and Meriweather is a leader, smart player, playmaker, hard hitter, plays well against run and pass.

Griffin is a lesser playmaker but a better overall tackler than anyone but Landry and hes bigger than Meriweather-Nelson

Griffin looks like a heady player. He also looks to be an excellent ST gunner which would also improve that unit. So assuming that Willis does not drop to 24 nor does a stud cornerback drop to 24 then yes I could live with Griffin as the Pats 1st round choice. He would upgrade 2 units at once and I would never underestimate special teams in BB's eyes. Griffin also shows to be a solid tackler in almost all those plays. I know it's highlight clips but still the form looks good. Also the last play starting at 3:38 was pretty amazing because I had to rewind it to appreciate it. Griffin strips the ball first then still managed to catch the defender by the ankles for the tackle "just in case." I thought he had messed up the tackle and had to make a desperation ankle grab, but it seems to me that he must have stripped the ball before the tackle took place. Can someone take a look at this and confirm. Did he strip the ball first or did the ball come out as a result of the ankle tackle? Hmm I'm not sure now.

This scout has Griffin rated as more of a top of the 2nd round prospect.

Hrrm. I guess I still covet Reggie Nelson more.

Ran a 4.3 on his pro day!

I still like Merriweather myself but I realize that Griffin's ST play will push him up a lot in Belichick's mind.
