The question is, how does this get past the editors :

6 TE Vernon Davis Maryland Jr. 6-3 250
We can't think of a better way to aid in the development of second-year franchise quarterback Alex Smith than a cornerstone left tackle to protect his backside for the foreseeable future.

Almost as curious is the Browns picking Ernie Sims to play OLB because "he's exactly the play-making presence the Browns are looking for in their 3-4 defense." A 6'0" 220 speedster is the perfect 3-4 OLB?

Anyone notice that Manny Lawson was not listed in the 1st round of that draft?

Lawson seems all over the place. He could go as high as #12 to Cleveland or quite a way down. If he got to #21, I'm really not sure how we could pass on him.

IF the QBs start to slide, then other position players must be moving up, which could cause a couple of mini-runs on certain positions. If DE/OLB is involved in one of those mini-runs, Lawson could go before our pick. It's very hard to imagine certain teams in need passing on a QB early.
