In fact, last year a draft site had the players times after 20 yards. I found this to be a pretty useful tool. I wish I remembered which one it was. It actually had a sortable feature, like Chick was recently asking about.
For example, last year RB Walter Reyes ran a scorching 40, something like a 4.42. But he did much better over the second half of that than the first. His first 20 was actually in the lower half of his group. So he had great acceleration once he got momentum. There's words for that, "kick" and "returner". In the backfield, he would have never made it through the hole and got the chance to use his speed. As a receiver, he would have needed the QB to hold on to the ball for too many seconds before he got open.
You would think I'd have that page bookmarked. So would I. Yet here we are. It was pointed out to me by someone in this forum, so maybe he/she knows?
