Default Lord forgive me...

If Brandon Pettigrew is available at 23... I can't even bear to say it... do the Pats take another first round TE?

Other than beating up police officers and getting drunk there are not many holes in his game.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!
Petigrew is talented but I'd be sorely disappointed if we did not go D at 23.

I'd be OK w it. There is something to say for taking the Best Player Available when you are stocked w picks w/in a given range. Especially if we trade Cassel for picks in that range as well - there will be plenty of opportunities to take CB, LB, S, OT, OG throughout the first 3 rounds - if #23 is Pettigrew, I'd be fine w it.

We need defense much more than TEs. I like Pettigrew, but I'll be very upset if we don't go D in the 1st unless we somehow snag one of the top OTs.

While I'd be a tad disappointed if the Pats don't go D with their #1 (unless they grabbed another for Cassel) - I would not be surprised. As someone already mentionned, the best player available is always a good way to go. Also, let's not forget that BB happens to like TE in the the first round. Finally, TE do not cost much when compared to other positions and their franchise numbers are also reasonable (looking down the road).

Let's go D, but BB is a crazy maniac on draft weekend. Remember Seymour ?Mankins ? Merriweather ? Not many can say they called all three (honestly say, anyways).

I not sure Pettigrew has enough speed/quicks to consistently get open against NFL level defenders.

I'm sure he doesn't. I think his upside is a poor man's Daniel Graham.

If hes a "poor mans" Daniel Graham what was Graham a "poor mans" version off? It doesn't sound good.

In BB I trust. If he picks Pettigrew, it's okay by me. If he picks an over-the-hill porn star, it's fine by me.
