Vance McDonald did look very good today. Double clutches quite a few catches on tape however.
Good post. What did you think of Armstead?
Armstead looked good. I am going to go back and look, but I thought he could have been crisper in his kick-slides and his hands seemed out of position, though MOST of the guys didn't have their hands in proper position.
As for McDonald double clutching catches.. That's something he could have been working on.. I don't see him any higher than a 4th, but I think that he'd be a steal for the 4th or 5th round. Especially as a long-snapper.

Baktiari - Can't Kickslide left to save his life.
Fluker - Horrible footwork. Raises a concern as to whether he'll be able to handle guys like Cameron Wake who pash rush from the right side. Frederick - Great Footwork
Schwenke - excellent footwork.
Warford - Didn't impress me in any of the drills.
Cooper and Lane Johnson were impressive in ALL of the drills.
One TE who caught my eye was Vance McDonald. 6'4 1/8", 34 3/8" arms. He seemed to do everything very well in the drills. Caught the ball in stride, away from his body each time. Also can longsnap.
I'm gonna have to pick through the NFL.com website to see if I can find the footage for Kasa. Kasa, Furstenburg, and and Lutzenkirchen got no real love from NFLN. Probably cause they're not Mayock's binkies..
I was going to put up the list of O-linemen who had shown poorly (below 28.5" - the number the Pats seem to use as a minimum cut-off) until I realized that there were more below than above.
The players who had 28.5" or higher verticals are as follows:
Terron Armstead (OT) - 34.5"
Nick Becton (OT) - 29.5"
Emmett Cleary (OT) - 28.5"
Eric Fisher (OT)- 28.5"
Reid Fragel (OT) - 30"
Travis Frederick (OC/OG) - 28.5"
Garrett Gilkey (OG) - 30"
Tanner Hawkinson (OT) - 28.5"
Eric Herman (OG/OC)- 28.5"
Luke Joekel (OT) - 28.5"
Lane Johnson (OT) - 34"
Stephane Milhim (OG/OT) - 28.5"
Jordan Mills (OT) - 28.5"
Vinson Painter (OT) - 30.5"
Justin Pugh (OT/OG) - 28.5"
Dan Quessenbury (OG/OT) - 30.5"
JC Tretter (OL) - 29.5"
Ricky Wagner (OT) - 31.5"
Earl Watford (OG) - 30"
Some guys didn't jump. Chance Womack being one of them. Fluker being another one. But a couple of big names missing from that list are Jon Cooper (27"), Menelik Watson (24.5"), Kyle Long (28") and Oboushi (23.5")
I know that the Vertical isn't the be all, end all for O-line, but it sure is telling..
I want to thank Manxman for posting BOR's info on O-linemen in the other thread:
30" vertical, 4.5 short shuttle, 7.5 3-cone, and 1.85 10 split (or better in each area).
As Manx pointed out to me in the other thread, there were only 2 guys who fell into this:
David Quessenbury and Tanner Hawkinson
So, it will be interesting to see what the Pats do.
NOTE: Since 2003, the Pats have only drafted 1 player (Ryan Callaghan) who didn't meet the 28.5" vertical jump. That's why I used it.
Devin Taylor has 36" arms ( ) on a 6'7" 266lb body.

Totally disagree that Taylor can't play. Taylor has a ton of upside and ridiculous measurements. 6070, 266lbs and 36 inch arms and 87 inch wingspan and possesses excellent speed. He could easily bulk up to 300lbs due to his frame. In 2010 at South Carolina he made All SEC 1st team (nothing to sneeze at) with 13.0 tackles for loss... had 7.5 sacks.
In 2011, his numbers dropped somewhat but he still was honorable mention All-SEC by the Associated Press and had 8.5 tackles for loss, including 6.0 sacks.
Last year he was expected to have a big year especially with Clowney on the other side of him but he did not; finishing with 8.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks. Can he play though? Most definitely. Which Taylor will show up though is the question.
Clemson's DE Malliciah Goodman measured in at 6040 276 lbs with a ridiculous 36 3/8 inch arms. WOW!
This highlights a question I've had. Is it a good thing or a bad thing to have a had a good but not spectacular college career and then to show up at the combine with fantastic measurables? Does it indicate promise as a pro with presumably better coaching, or a lack of drive and discipline because the physical attributes weren't reflected in on the field production?
