1st and 10 SEA 15 Danny Woodhead right guard for 5 yards (tackle by Earl Thomas and Chris Clemons)
2nd and 5 SEA 10 Danny Woodhead right tackle for 4 yards (tackle by Brandon Mebane and Alan Branch)
3rd and 1 SEA 6 Tom Brady pass incomplete short middle intended for Wes Welker is intercepted by Earl Thomas at SEA--3 and returned for 23 yards (tackle by Tom Brady)
this was it...... a first down here and a TD or even an FG would have pretty much iced the game, but what happened was letting the seahawks off the mat and they pummeled the pats from this point on.
the were running the ball pretty well....they needed to keep running the ball....if you can't gain a yard in 2 tries, you deserve to lose the game in the same manner the pats lost it

There were a couple instances where we'd string together a couple good runs, then come out in the spread and completely ignore not only the run game but the idea of at least making their guys respect a possible run. It was horrible. Brady and the secondary were probably the biggest reasons for the loss but the playcalling was a pretty big factor and pretty terrible.

Terrible play calling.
I almost wanna say McDaniels should be fired on the spot.

The Patriots moved their ball from their own 30 to the Seahawks 7 with 7 passing plays.
They were passing the ball well.
On a series after this, they ran the ball 3 straight times and punted.
They gained 9 yards on those first 2 plays, and were stuffed on the 3rd down.
If the Patriots passed 7 times for gains from their own 30 to the Seahawks 7, then ran the ball and were stuffed 3 times, people would be *****ing and moaning.
The one good point you made regardless is the FG. You need points on the board there. But you're also thinking about putting the game away for good with a TD, no? You have 15 minutes left in the game. A field goal still means only a 2 score lead with 2 point conversions.
They blew it regardless. But I don't think it was the decision to go exclusively run or pass.

The ball was slippery from the rain AND Brady had thrown 3 almost-INTs.
He's lucky he only ended the game with 2 INTs. Seahawks had chances to pick off a few more.

I'm with you. That was one of the stupidest set of plays this team has done in a long time.
Was shaking my head at that playcall: you've just got 9 yards from two run plays. Now you only need a yard for a 1st down and you throw it??????
typical law of averages says that this one should have been a TD.
it appears they always make the 'right call' on the next drive only to have it sniffed out by the defense.
i think while mcdaniel draws some stuff up nicely, that ever since the cassell season, the book is out on him. everyone has caught up to his tendencies.

The whole time I was thinking that this was the Patriots getting their killer instinct back. Thought there was no way they didn't have two run plays lined up at that point, one for the 3rd and 1 and one if they failed.
I almost wanna say McDaniels should be fired on the spot.
Huh? That was 100% on Brady. Welker was open and it would have been a first down if Brady didn't throw it high and hard on a three yard pass. Unless McDaniels told Brady to throw a hard 20 yard laser pass on a short crossing route, the blame goes 100% on Brady on that play.
Seriously, people want to blame McDaniels for everything that goes wrong with the offense. That was clearly not his fault.
