No way. Odds are this guy will get in trouble again before draft day. His immaturity and self destruction is way up on the danger scale. I don't care how talented he is, he would be a waste of a 7th rounder at this point unless he finds his path.
The thing that bothers me the most about the kid is his nfl future is disappearing right before his eyes and he still makes bad decisions and hangs with the wrong crowd. He is lost and in need of a positive mentor and I hope he finds him or her soon. I don't care if he is an nfl player or not, I'd like him to atleast get a degree out of this mess.
I'll bet he's no different than half the Florida team when Spikes/AHERN were down in Gainesville. Urban let em do whatever the hell they wanted. Almost all of their top players were busted for smoking weed at some point. Our guys. Harvin, Haden and Janoris Jenkins. Jenkins even said if he was still coaching instead of Muschamps he wouldn't have been thrown out of school. I give LSU credit for sticking to their policies. Because Tebow was such a goody two-shoes they never got the grief other schools did for the same thing.

He moved in with Patrick Peterson's family. He's finally out of Baton Rouge, so we'll see if that keeps him out of trouble. After he was kicked off the team he just kept hanging out with the same people but with more time on his hands, recipe for trouble.

Could he be a reclamation project like Dennard? Wouldn't mind a look in the 7th if he has the talent. Haven't seen him play though so I can't judge. I don't think you use a 3rd round pick on a character risk like that though.

For a 7 rounder, as st player AND slots corner but nothing else. Pretty sure he can be fixed, plus I doubt hes worse then Spikes, Hernandez, Talib, Dennard even Cunnigham and Bolden. Its not like we should be shamed if we drafted him.. But I really like those corners and safetys, who aint pretty boys !
Hes a playmaker and fit Patriots system in the slot, question is more if other teams take him before 7 round ( 49ers, Rams etc )
I am guessing that in order to be expelled from the program, he had to have failed about half a dozen drug tests rather than one or two, and repeatedly ignored or bypassed any efforts people made to help him.
It does not speak to him having the level of intelligence, commitment, and self-control needed to contribute in NE, in my opinion.

To be pedantic, drafting me in the 7th round would be a wasted pick (got the height and weight of a decent sized safety and the foot speed of a run stuffing defensive tackle)
But I agree with you, a 7th rounder is a dart thrown at a wide universe of plausible NFL level atheletes who may or more likely may not actually be viable NFL level players.

I'll be interested to see what his 3-cone and short shuttle numbers are. My eyes tell me he could be an elite CB covering the slot receiver. If his short area quickness is elite I'd go for it. Given the growth of that position on offense I believe BB, based on his on comments regarding this issue, would value a guy like that highly. I can see them rolling the dice in the 4th if everything checks out much like Hernandez.

There's only two conclusions for Patriots fans on rookies. They are either a bust or being fitted for their bust in Canton.

An electric contributor and playmaker on a National Championship team, in the SEC against top competition...yeah, BB would absolutely kick the tires on that. Hernandez slipped to the 4th for pot. But, Colorado and Washington states have given us a hint around what most people really think about marijuana.
One of two things could be happening with this kid:
1) he's skating by on his athletic talent without putting in the work
2) he's a hardworking kid who wants to get better.
Using his image to promote a party...100% media invention, not a big deal, not about him.
Possession of marijuana...inconclusive.
Getting kicked off the team...now you have my attention. But I'd want too see more cause than the prior two accusations.
Draft for attitude. If he's made mistakes but willing to own it and do what needs to be done to get past it, then I can see the upside. (Dennard has saved this D)
If he's just looking for his pay day then, obviously, not interested.
