Not saying that the Patriots would be interested, but with Philly trading for DeMeco Ryans, how far do you think he falls?

I have him going to the Chiefs @11. Doubt he gets past Pittsburgh.

I still wouldn't count Philly out of taking Kuechly. They still have a big hole at SLB, which is the position Ryans played and excelled at, at Alabama. If I was the Eagles I would draft Kuechly and play him a MLB, Ryans at SLB and Brian Rolle at WLB.

I don't see the Eagles giving up draft picks and paying Ryans $6M salary to be an SLB though. He'll be the MLB for sure. This just means Philly won't take a LB in the 1st which wasn't a guaranteee anyway since Andy doesn't like to do that.

They have two second rounders and there should be a few good LB's available then.

I think the Eagles go DT and they will probably take Cox/Still/Brockers/Poe if available.

I don't think you pass on the best LB prospect since Patrick Willis just because you are paying Ryans $6mil, especially with the rookie wage scale. They really only gave up the equivalent of a late 3rd rounder, so they are not too invested in the guy that they have to play him at MLB. I'm not saying they will draft Kuechly, but if they like him, I don't think DeMeco Ryans is a reason not to take him. He might not even make it to the Eagles, so it might not even be an issue.

While I agree you both make very good points, the eagles absolutely have to go DT/LB BPA. But they really need help @ LB across the board. Them not going LB early is comparable to us not drafting a WR early had we not gotten B.Lloyd. They may have fielded arguably the worst LB Corp in the league. As good as that D-line was on passing downs, if they stick with that wide 9 on early downs they need sure tacklers that can cover real estate and fill gaps quickly on the backside.

I see Jamar Chaney landing the WLB job over Rolle mainly because Rolle is so tiny (5-10/227), Ryans in the Middle and then a battle for the SLB spot between a draftee and incubant on the roster already.

It'll be interesting to watch on draft day for sure.

Pittsburgh or the Jets will probably take Kuechly, Farrior is ancient and Bart Scott is useless so they both need him.

I wouldn't be shocked if Carolina takes him at 9. He's a better football player than any of the defensive linemen in this draft.....Period And, it's not really all that close.
Boston Boxer and Finn McCool like this.

Wouldn't mind Carolina grabbing him....would hate to see him on the Stealers or Yets ...
