Default Terrence Wheatley brief phone interview & clips

Here's what i picked up off of Youtube in case anyone on here didn't see. Sounds like a pretty bright guy and a solid Corner. Really excited to see what he can do. And he can play man... These were both posted by a Dallas fan BTW.

That kid is a ball hawk. And his interview only reinforces it.

"I played a lot of man. If you can't play man you can't play at Colorado. And with little to no help. Not for the faint of heart."

Love it.

I watched Terrance Wheatley's combine highlights and he looked impressive. However, at the senior bowl lot of the writers didn't have too many good things to say about him i.e.

http:\\sportsillustrated.cnn.com\2008\football\nfl \01\24\risers.sliders\1.html
"Terrence Wheatley, CB, Colorado: Wheatley struggled and consistently looked overmatched in practice. He lacks the size to cover the large receivers and did not show the foot speed to keep up with faster wide outs."

http:\\nfldraftwatch.wordpress.com\2008\01\26\seni or-bowl-practice-recap-north-defense\
"Terrence Wheatley, Colorado - Bad week. Looked overmatched."

http:\\nfldraftcountdown.com\features\seniorbowl\r eports\review.html
"Meanwhile I have always felt that DeJuan Tribble of Boston College was overrated and he did nothing to change my opinion while Terrence Wheatley of Colorado is a similar type of player and could probably be had two or even three rounds later. Neither was great but I'll take Wheatley"

http:\\msn.foxsports.com\cfb\story\7726686\Senior-Bowl-provides-early-draft-barometer
"Senior Bowl week was a big chance for Wheatley and Tribble to shine, but, at best, they graded out as an incomplete. Wheatley showed the athleticism to be close to coming up big, but he failed to stand out when a big play needed to be made. Tribble had even bigger problems, struggling against the big, physical Adarius Bowman, and having even more issues on when pressed on deep balls."

Writers usually have bad things to say about our draft picks. 90% of the time they are wrong.

I think the wroters get a heavy dose of Mel Diaper Jr-itis during the bowl week. You can not look at Wheatley matched up one of one with senior bowl WR's and project him in our defense. If Wheatley started from day 1 for the Pats at CB, he would play man in an average game about 3 to 5 plays per GAME.
Our defense is soft zone with a heavy mixture of communication and over and/or under help. The thing about this kid that impresses me is the quick twitch and lightening change of direction. He has the ability to cover the slot receivers as a rookie and after a few years in our defense, he should become a master of jumping routes.
