I like it. It'll be a high 2nd rounder, but obviously the Pats aren't crazy about the third round this year enough to want three players out of it.

You can't make decisions based on that. It's stupid. There have been times when the Sox and Yanks would have been perfect trade partners, but the fans would have their heads explode. If you can make a deal that helps you (picking up a 2nd rounder next year in this case when we will need to replace even more old bodies), you do it-- whether it helps the Chargers is not your concern.

I guess that was not too bad - More reason to hope the CHargers suck this year - but I doubt it,They look to be pretty good so it may be a pick somewhere in the late 50s/early 60s - hopefully not mid 60s

That's an excellent deal. The 2nd rounder may well be a high one, but it's a second rounder all the same.

This is a perfect example of how BB-SP operate and why they are so successful. They set up the '09 draft with an extra 2nd rounder, and at the same time fill the only hole in today's draft board, as we'd traded away our 5th yesterday. SD had no picks today until the 5th, so they were desperate to do something.

We have another 3rd that'll be up in few minutes.

Great move.
