OT: Miami attempting to get back into round one...
...according to the main page of NFLDraftscout.com.
Multiple league sources have informed them that the Fins are "working the phone lines" to be in position to select Michigan quarterback Chad Henne, reuniting him with their first pick, Jake Long. Any more to the story is for subscribers (I think)...
If we were to play with some rumors a bit, a two plus two says, the Cowboy's Jones may be willing to part with one of his two first rounders (the #28). Parcells wants back into round one. I think they know each other. Could work for both teams. Food for thought...

Interesting. In light of the Long signing and the Allen trade, I'm going to try to do another mock. This is definitely worth considering, IF the Fins have Henne head and shoulders above Flacco and Brohm.

That wouldn't be a very smart thing for miami to do. Unless there is a run on QB's one of the second tier 2 (henne brohm and flacco) will be there at the top of round 2 form less money and they don't have to give up picks, which more than likely would be there #1 next year.

They are in the first round with the 32nd pick

The thing is those are 3 very different QBs. If you genuinely think a guy has what it takes, I say you make the move. Just waiting for whatever's available in the 2nd gets you...John Beck.

That is a very good point. I stili think they have too many holes are are going to be too bad next year to give up what will proably have to be there 1st round pick next year

They may have the #32 pick, but it's still the first pick of the second round (it's not merely a semantic difference--they can only sign that pick to a four-year deal).

Ah, this explains our difference of perspective. Since Miami already holds #32, I'm assuming that they could slide up into the mid-20s for a modest price, say an exchange of 3rds.

It would seem their two second round picks on the old value chart put them at 17/18, that's right after the neediest QB-less teams pick. I'd say they will try to get back up in that range because any QB-needy teams from the top ten may well be trying to move back into the third tier of round 1 to get "their" man. Atlanta, for example, has three second round picks to work with.

How about our #7 for Taylor and their #32 and their round 4 pick? We are where we should have been, pick up Taylor for at least two more good years and get us in a position to go after a RB like Corey Boyd (sleeper with speed, size and hands. Best receiving back in the draft who can run inside through the tackles upon occasion) or a WR/KR like Dexter Jackson. At #32 we can get Cason or Mayo if he's still on the board.
Now Miami can get any QB they want including Ryan if he slips there.
Would ya?
