Default Antoine Cason?

Ok, I'm pretty high on him. Although, i have not heard much talk about him. It's all DRC this and DRC that.. What do you think the chances are that we grab him at all? I think he has great potential in the Pats system. I like McKelvin as well but if it were up to me I'd go with Cason. Any thoughts?

I have Cason as my #2 CB and #12 overall player on my big board. I think he would be the best CB prospect for the Patriots, even more than McKelvin, whom I have #1.

Of all the CBs that I have read up on most of the experts say Cason is the one that is more able to move right in and start than any other one.

All of these threads :

mention Cason. He's one of the most popular players on this board if we end up with a mid to low #1. How have you not heard much about him ?

I think Cason is going to be a great player while the other CBs this year I would say are a toss up whether they will make any major impact in the NFL.

I think Cason has the talent to be a future all-pro at CB - I just like his skills and he is the best in this draft IMO

I'm talking about the media, seldom do they refer to Cason. NFL Network or Mel Kiper for that matter (As dumb as he is).

There's a reason Cason is rated as a second round pick. He lacks the high end athleticism of the top 4 corners discussed: McKelvin, DRC, Jenkins, and Talib. However Cason could make for a nice system CB, which could hide his less than great speed.

Remember folks, just because the posters on THIS BOARD value Cason highly, doesn't mean that the rest of the league does. If we can get him in round 2, I'll be fine with that because I think he could make a good system CB for the Pats, but not because I think he is the fastest or most athletic CB out there, clearly he is NOT.

Cason is the master chief....he is simply the best

The Patriots, though, have a fairly consistent draft history with DBs -- the classic measurables, especially pure speed, aren't high on their list of criteria. (Check out Brandon Meriweather's measurables and prepare to shudder!) Cason has exactly the skill profile that the Patriots target.
