Default John Greco OG Toledo - A good fit for the Pats?

I have heard this guy mentioned by more than a few prognosticators who say NE will be looking at him seriously if he is still around by late in the 2nd round and is supposed to be a good fit with this team.

Anyone know much about this kid and if he would make a good 2nd round selection?

Greco is a 3rd/4th round talent (projected). Its unlikely that the Pats would take him in the 2nd.

From what I read, I don't see him as a good fit in the zone blocking schemes as he's not very mobile and can't really get out to the second level for screens. He's more of a straight line blocker, though his technique needs serious work.

Yeah,I never even heard of the kid but when guys like Pat Kirwin start talking about some of the better guards this year, I take notice since Pat is one of the best in the game when it comes to recognizing talent.

If we go take Albert as some expect then its extremely unlikely the team even looks at this guy in the 2nd or 3rd or 4th since IMO we are going to draft ONE offensive lineman this year and maybe another offensive player (HB or TE) with the other 6 selections all focusing on defense.

No offense, but if Pat was so good, he'd still have a GM job in the NFL.

People compare Greco to Kaczur because Greco took over for Kaczur, but there are some distinct differences. One of which is that Kaczur is more mobile than Greco and showed that he could get to the second level to block on screens. Greco doesn't have that ability. Greco is an in-line blocker. Which is fine for the Pats passing game, but doesn't work in the Pats running game (as we've seen with O'Callaghan).

Someone on the pats board at espn had him in their mock. Dont know anything about him. I cant imagine how anyone could be worse than Hotchstien though, he needs to go.

Hochstein is not the greatest talent in the world but the reason he is still around and the reason BB keeps only average talent around is because they are VERSATILE like Russ is.

Hochstein can play or fill in every position on that line and I don't think he is that bad overall so expect him to remain a Patriot for another few years.

Personally, the only OL that I would want would be Long, Clady, Albert, Otah, Williams. If I can't get them, I let Neal, Kaczur, O'Callaghan, Hochstein, and UFA's handle it.

Hochstein is the worst? *ROFLMAO* Let me know when you actually start watching the games and just don't have the TV on drinking yourself into oblivion.

Hochstein is an above average lineman who can and has started at guard and center for the Patriots. Yes, he got abused by the Giants D-line, but so did Mankins, Light, Koppen, Neal and Kaczur.

Hotchstien has been horrible for a few years now, im surprised he didnt get cut before the season. He is on Ashworthless's level, hes a scrub and stinks. Ive watched him play and hes always getting beat. Hes gone soon.
