On his special the other night, Parcells claimed Amukamara has short arms, thus making him a difficult fit at corner.

Not five minutes ago I was considering of the wisdom of trying to draft Jordan and Watt in this scenario. It would be an expensive front line, but Wow!
I'm over it now, though. Trading up for Amukamara makes sense, since he can play corner or safety and provide value on punt returns also. I guess if I liked Constanzo more I'd grab him, but I'd be content to wait to see if he makes it to 28.
That's almost exactly my train of thought. Watt & 17, then package 28 + 74 (and maybe swap 90 for a 4th as a sweetener) and grab Amukamara as your FS at 18.
So let's imagine that Gosselin's sources are accurate. You're sitting at 17 and Jordan, Quinn, Watt, Amukamara, Costanzo etc. are all on the board. What do you do? Personally, I'd be on the phone trying like made to trade up from 28.
This was my first reaction but those teams will be tough to dislodge given all the players available. You might even have to give up your second 2nd even though that is overpaying.
The comment on the Chargers Jumping us to grab our guy, whoever that is. It just makes too much sense. Not only does Miami get extra picks for a short drop. They are now add more value to their QB choice if that is the way they decide to go. PLUS and its a big plus for them, they get the chance to keep the Pats away from a player they want.
Well...This mock seems a bit weird but who knows. Let's remember that the very best mockers average around a 55% accuracy rate so take even a pro like Gosselin's mock with a grain of salt.
If this scenario does unfold then I'd trade back a few slots from 17 - and sit tight at 28. We'd still get Watt, Quinn, Luiget, Or Amukamara, etc, and still get Watkins at 28.

FWIW McShay just said on ESPN Radio he thinks the Pats will end up with only 1 pick in the first round and sees them making a deal with Dallas to move up to #10 to get Cameron Jordan, he believes the Pats are in love with him.
So as of now both McShay and Gosselin are saying Pats want Jordan.
Edit: my bad, also Mayock had Pats getting Jordan too.
So that's 3 guys who say Pats want Jordan...where there's smoke there's fire right?

Dallas has the 9th pick, but I suppose Wash is also a possibility at 10. If, as I suspect, they have Jordan head and shoulders above Watt, trading up is a no brainer.
This draft scenario would be a dream come true for Bill. 5 QB's taken with the first 12 picks? Ingram to the rams?(did Stephen Jackson die in the off-season?) If this scenario played out, Bill would have his choice of Watt, Jordan, and Quinn at 16, and could easily package #28 and #74 to move up a few spots to grab Prince or someone else he likes. And that still leaves some great talent on the board at #33, though probably not many trade offers since the run on QB's already took place. I really, really, hope something like this happens. This is the mock I respect the most, and amazingly it has all sorts of great defensive talent unexpectedly dropping!

With the Pats, if there is smoke, its usually a smokescreen. This probably means the patriots hate Jordan and are trying to drive up his value so someone else takes him
