Default Blockbuster Trade?

Is there a team with holes in their board this year?

A team without a #1 might be interested in trading quality picks fro a Pats #1 and a bunch of day 2 picks.

I don't think we'll get diddly for those day 2's alone.

We could make some team that screwed up look healthy quick and gain quality 2s and 3s for ourselves.

I hear Netflix has offered Blockbuster several romantic comedies for a handful of Japanese monster movies, Hollywood video is expected to make a bid too.

Only team this year w/ out a 1st is Seattle. Should we trade it back?

Well they certainly have a lot of trash at the bottom of the list like us.

Seriously, Box, you would know this. Are there teams who have traded away picks and will get a lot of flack from fans because they have few picks and maybe little to show for it?

The Patriots can package high and low picks to make a suddenly "healthy" draft and take the pressure off some team.

Meanwhile, it allows us to get some value for low picks that will just be camp cuts.

We still will have multiple low picks that are untradeable.

Sweet. I love that idea.

My scenario doesn't mean only non #1 holding teams, though.

Look at Miami, for example. They seem to trade a 2 for a bust yearly.

This does point out a problem with my scenario though, since we are missing a 2.

The idea is to offer top and lots of bottom picks to a team that could use them.

I'm sure some team might want 2 1st rounders. The problem lies in getting 2nds or 3rds since said team might have squandered. Of course possibly obtaining a vet LB makes great sense for our team.

Are the teams draft picks per round available in one place?

The Pats #1 trade asset is Asante. There was a rumor that had Washington interested to give up #6 for Asante and one of the NE 1sts. Presumably NE would then trade back to try and land Adam Carriker and Darrelle Revis.

Cincinnati is also reported interested in Asante, presumably the Pats could close that deal for an extra pick this year or next.

Tennessee may be willing to take Asante for their first and another pick this year or next.

http://www.newerascouting.com/index.php?c=6 lists 21 teams other than the Pats who may want a CB in this draft. The question is which clubs would choose to use a first on Asante? Would the Pats trade into the top 10? Would they think they could make a trade back and get more than one player out of the moves? Which player(s) would have top ten value for NE? As far as I'm concerned, only Carriker.

The Redskins are the only team who has gutted their draft and I don't think they give a hang what the fans think.

Peter King has Pats trading away the #24 to Wash for a 2008 1st but doesn't specify any other compensation. At #28, Pats take Griffin.

It says that the Skins would be trading into the 1st round. Most likely meaning that it would be pick #38 and a 1st in 2008 for the #24 pick.

WTF. The Skins don't have a pick to trade, after #6, until the 5th round this year.
