He seems to have the mobility to get to the second level, which Belichick seems to put a premium on. Wasn't he a captain on the team? It's hard to imagine someone with those issues being named a captain.
If you have some knowlege of him being lazy or a head case, please share them and I will reconsider. As for now, I prefer Ugoh's past production over Staley's potential. I wouldn't actively try to draft him, but I would take him in the first round over Moss or Weddle.
"There's also concern that he doesn't show a great love for the game of football and needs a fire lit under him in order to get full effort."
"Shows quickness in the short-area but lacks ideal foot speed and will
"He is still a bit raw and will not get away with sub-par footwork in the NFL, like he did in college."
"comes with a reputation of lacking passion for the game of football."
"he is a bit of a boom-or-bust prospect in our opinion"
"A bit of an underachiever who doesn't always play up to his physical tools...Is he devoted to and truly love the game?"
"Biggest problems I had with Ugoh and why I have him ranked lower than most is his conditioning and upper body strength. He did do 32 reps at 225 at the combine but it doesn’t look like that sheer strength transfers to the football field. Also seems to get winded very easily, especially for a player as athletic as he is. Conditioning will have to improve at the next level which means he is probably doing the right thing by keeping his weight down around 300 pounds."
"Showed more desire in his play as a senior, but preferred to compete in track rather than football most of his career (only spring ball he attended at Arkansas was in 2006)"
"Needs to play with more aggression and seems to go through the motions at times"
"Not a hard worker in the offseason and needs hard coaching to produce … Lacks aggression in his play and will give up on plays when beaten rather than try to stick with the action."
Also, everything I've been reading about this guy makes him sound like more of a Guard than a legit pro OT.
