Moss is consistent enough to be a Pats first rounder, let alone a transition player in the first...not to mention the report of his national radio interview while under the influence.
Weddle is a player I like, if the Pats want him 28 is the way to go. With Hall, Revis, and Carriker all falling into the second half of round one, I'd prefer to see a trade up.

I think NE would draft Willis, Beason, Timmons, Woodley, Harris, and even Spencer before they would draft Moss.
I used to like Moss for the Pats, but that was before I read his bio/scouting reports, his combine, and NE's signing of AD. The radio interview I don't know about because I didn't personally hear it.
When it comes to that second pick (Weddle at 28th overall), yuck!
He grades out as a late second, and I don't see the reach at 28. Why reach for Weddle at 28, when you could trade down into the second for him? NE could also land Wendling, or Josh Gattis in the third, or maybe even fourth, so that is another reason to question that pick. If they go Safety in the first it will be one of Nelson, Griffin, or Meriweather. they might even be able to get Meriweather in the second by trading down, so I really don't understand Weddle in the first.
Mel Kiper was the first to suggest this, since then people have run with it. NE hasn't even shown any interest in Weddle.

No Moss. Hes an OLB we need ILB. Eric Weddle is a decent pick, but not at 28. Oh well atleast they dont have us taking Brian Leonard like every other draft.
If the draft unfolds that way, I'd want to see a CB with the first pick.
I'd also like to see a safety taken high. Unlike the case of CBs, Beoili's safety draft picks have been mediocrities. (Although the Wilson case is complicated on a couple of levels.) Time for them to use a high pick and give it their best shot.

Not THAT many drafts have the Pats taking Brian Leonard. [Of course, I'm squarely in the camp that thinks that, like Welker, Leonard just belongs in a Patriots uniform. It's also interesting to note that they gave Sammy Morris a relatively low-risk deal that would not preclude cutting him.]

I'd be incredibly dissapointed with Moss and Weddle. My satellite controller would be smashed into a million pieces from hitting the wall at light speed.

My thoughts exactly; just substitute "digital cable" for "satellite".

Cousins, Moss is a reach. Do not like him even in the third.
I like Weddle but Wendling might be better.
If we are going to play around with a LB pick for a "definite maybe", I would rather trade a one and a six for Briggs, sign Assante to an extension to get the CAP down and offer Briggs AT money or else pass. Briggs will be a very good ILB here. Think of the possibilities! You are not gambling and you are taking a two time All Pro. If they can't get Willis or Beason, then Briggs is the only way to go. I'd even go for Hartwell (only 26) before anyone else after Beason and Willis.
In the late rounds the kid from Maine at Safety is shot I would take. Speed, size, can cover and has a mean streak but plays for a small school (think #37).

Not me. I don't get it. With Spencer, Ugoh, Staley, Grubbs, Harrell, and Sears all still there, I would be very disappointed with that first round.
Why do you like Ugoh? I asked you this before, but I don't think you ever answered. He's a head case, and has commitment problems. I'm not sure if I would use a first round pick on someone who doesn't always give their full effort on the field. I like Harrell, and I've been talking about him for over a month now, just not as much on this board. I'm only wondering if NE would think he's a reach at 24-28 considering he's coming off injury? Maybe not considering he'd probably be a top 15 pick if not for that injury, but it's also something to worry about. Grubbs is talented, but they need an OT more, and there'll be nice guards around during the later rounds, so I wouldn't take him here. Also, Grubbs generally grades out as an early-mid second. I like Santucci in the later rounds because I think he's more talented than some believe, and he's better than some of their current backups at the position. I like Staley and wouldn't mind seeing him at 28. I think he's a reach at 24, though. Some have started to say he could go a little earlier with his awsome Pro Day workout, so he might not be there at 28, either.
