We all know the 10 players or so who will be gone and all the underclassman coming out. There should be 2/3 players that can MAKE A IMPACT for us next year. Who do you hope BB grabs in the 1st?
I am hoping for LB and either SS/CB but am betting we take a
TE and either a DB or DL project we turn into a LB.
My wish wish is Willis at LB.

This will change for us all many times, especially with FA yet to come.
Right now I'm starting to want David Harris with our #2 pick. At #24 I probably like one of the CB if we lose Samuel without getting an adequate replacement. At #28 I think I like Michael Griffin unless we think Merriweather's character is OK.
Best case for me right now :
Re-sign Samuel and Graham (I know, wishful thinking)
#24 - Jarvis Moss, DE switch to OLB
#28 - Michael Griffin
Round 2 - David Harris
Early Value Board (for players within reach of the Pats)
I am crossing off anyone with a hint of character issues from my board. This draft is so crucial I believe it in our best interests to play it safe. For that reason Jarvis Moss and Merriwether are not on my board, despite the fact under the right conditions and leadership they could be all-pro talent. Not worth the risk. Also, Quenton Moses is very shaky here because of his senioritis.
OLB
rd 1: Anthony Spencer
rd 2: Dan Bazuin
rd 3: (a) Jay Moore (b) Quentin Moses

You guys seem to know more than me. Why does a DE make a better LB than a LB would? Is it the size?
That Jarvis Moss from Florida 6-6 251 is sure Big!
The reason is because of BB's system he installed in NE. For example, Willie McGinest, Teddy Bruschi, Colvin, Mike Vrabel, and Tully-Banta-Cain all played DE in college.
BB once said that DE project to play OLB in our system. They must be "big" enough to set the edge of the DL against the run, but athletic enough to drop into coverage. Usually, but not always, OLB tend to project to play ILB.
For example, if we drafted Bobby Carpenter or A.J. Hawk last year they would probably play inside for us. DE in college like DeMarcus Ware or Shawn Merriman would play OLB for us.
In short, DE play OLB for us because they must be big. BUT, they must still be athletic enough to play coverage.

So... what does BB look for in CB/SS and who fits this bill that we may take?
thanks again
so far ... BB has picked real small, fast, shifty CB in rounds 2-4. For example, Asante Samuel was in the 4th round, Hobbs was in the 3rd. Eugene Wilson was a CB converted safety who was drafted in the 2nd round.
James Sanders was drafted to play the SS position in the 3rd round I believe. So was Guss Scott. Dexter Reid was drafted in the 4th I believe.
History seems to tell us that BB will get his DBs in the lower rounds, but you never know with BB.
