Note that these gentlemen are not necessarily the best at their positions (I find it hard to believe the Pats will spend a first on a QB or RB, for example). Some of them I've never seen play, but the system they play in and their measurables have them at least on my radar. I'm not sure how much college ball I'll be able to watch with a new toddler on my hands, but I'm going to give an effort to see these guys play. Any additional commentary will of course be welcome:

Amen Brother. This guy is going to be really good. I can't wait to see how he does this year. Hopefully the Pats will somehow trade up for him (since we're not planning on picking high ).

And for local ties, I believe Andre Caldwell is Reche's brother, and Zak DeOssie is Steve's son. If Dad was smart, Zak can long snap also.

As a newbie to the site and a fellow Nebraska Cornhusker Fan, a sleeper is the TE at Nebraska Matt Herian-he would have easily been in the First 2 Rounds of the NFL Draft if he wouldnt have blew out his knee. He redshirted last year and could be a good pickup. What is weird is seeing NO USC players there or there great WRs. Take Care

Seriously, though, I'd at least have added Jeff Samardzija to the list; pursuing baseball should drop his stock to the point where the Pats might see value in picking him.

I'd have highlighted the names from the farm teams (FSU, ND, UF), since I'd put pretty good odds at least one of them will get drafted this year. . . .

I think right now the scouting report on Samardzija says "Not 100% committed to football". I don't see any way Belichick would draft him unless he falls to late on the second day.

I'm not stupid enough to try and read Belichick's mind re: Samardzija right now. But I can say with confidence that (A) Weis will give BB the lowdown, and (B) Belichick will do what makes sense.

One question though--if Samardzija decided that he were 100% committed to football, would you want him on the Pats?

I didn't see Anthony Waters, LB, from Clemson, on the list. Not only is he a first round prospect, but has what BB looks for in a 'backer. And I'm sure he's drooled over him from watching Tye Hill film.

Also, that Desmond Bishop kid will have a monster year on a monster "D".
