Claridge was not around in Foxboro during his rehab, apparently.

He had a prior shoulder injury that I speculae may have pushed him down the draft rankimngs to #5. From the comments by Chad Brown and TJ, he must have some talent that impressed them. BB/SP saw something too.

The Patriots brass had the luxury and have been willing to take the time to let a player heal and wait for him. Other examples are Wesley Britt, Dave Mruczkowski, Joe Andruzzi, Redmond, Anthony Pleasant, and Ty Poole.
