I guess drafting BUMS like "I never play cuz I suck" Wheatley,"see the back of my Jersey as I get burned...AGAIN" Wilhiite, and "maybe my knee will let me play by my 4th year" Tate, wasn't good enough,we've got a guy that is giving Matt Millen a run for his $ by drafting a mediocre special teams player and giving him 1st Rd. cake.
Pass rush? Uneccessary when you have 72 CBS playing.
Lbs? What for, we have no pass rush, they gonna chuck it at our lousy CBS...all 72 of them bums

I didn't particularly want a WR.

I guess we project to:

Moss
Holt
Edelman
Tate
Price

Aiken (for STs)
Slater (ditto, but his job is threatened by the other strong ST guys)
Stanbach (but his job is generally very threatened)

plus Welker on PUP.

That's a bunch.

He started strong during Senior Bowl week, and faded away as the week went on, in the game he disappeared. 4.4 speed, good change of direction, reportedly his hands and routes are okay. I'm hoping for another WR in this draft.

Taylor Price
Height: 6-0⅜ | Weight: 204 | 40-Time: 4.41

Official Bio

Strengths:
Good height and bulk --- Smooth and athletic --- Excellent speed and acceleration with a burst --- Vertical threat who can separate --- Great ball skills and body control --- Terrific leaper --- Good strength --- Tough and not afraid to work across the middle --- Nice awareness --- Has a lot of confidence --- Mature --- Superb Work Ethic --- Durable --- Upside.

Weaknesses:
Does not have natural hands --- Marginal quickness and agility --- Not much wiggle and won't make people miss --- Still very raw as a route runner --- Limited experience as a return man --- Can be more physical and aggressive --- Isn't much of a blocker --- Just average production.

Notes:
Was a three-year starter for the Bobcats --- Named 2nd Team All-MAC in 2009 --- Averaged 17.9 yards with 0 touchdowns on 10 career kick returns and did not return a punt in college --- Was underutilized and never got consistent play from the quarterback position, which at least partially explains his lack of eye-popping statistics --- Earned positive reviews from many for his performance at the Senior Bowl --- Is straight-linish and plays a finesse game --- A classic "Workout Warrior" who will most likely be selected earlier than he should be due to that rare blend of size and speed but he doesn't always play up to those impressive physical tools --- May be a poor-man's Darrius Heyward-Bey.

I think it was just the right spot for a WR.

I also thought that Moss, Holt, Edelman and Tate plus whoever, were fine while we waited on Welker and then as good as we've ever had.
Now Price can be added to the mix, and also be part of the future as Moss and Holt age.
Seems like the right pick for the right cost walking into a good situation where he has a chance to really contribute but it isnt a disaster if he isnt ready yet.
Plus we added a good receiving TE to the group which will help.

With WR being such a big weakness I would have taken Bryant with the first pick. I didn't love their first rnd pick.
