Default pats 2 round mock

ok here is my second mock draft and also my last cause im busy tomorrow afternoon haha so here it is and tell me what you think and...dont yell at me cause of my first pick

1- Dez Bryant. Hes a strong big reciever kinda like a Anquan Boldin and with Torry Holt AND Randy Moss to learn from he will be the #1 for years to come

2a- Jerry Hughes. Just look at his college production it compares with the top OLB's and in some cases its better! he will be a great pick up

2b- Tyson Alualu. Hes a big guy with speed who can also stop the run i see him as a perfect fit for the spot opposite of Ty Warren

2c- Rob Gronkowski. Granted he has back problems but so didnt Vollmer and look at him but Gronkowski is an all around good TE i see him in the mold of Jason Witten just a lil quicker

alright there it is now let me have it haha

I don't think that ANY of the players will be theres when you have us picking them, especially Gronkowski.

This is pretty much my dream draft without trades (with trades, I'd have Bryant at #22, a trade to the Ravens for Kindle at #24, and Alualu with the remaining 2nd).

Funnily enough, I did my first ever mock and didn't have Gronkowski going in the first two rounds. Probably a mistake, but I just felt teams were finding players in a deep draft to fit more pressing needs. Still, he should have gone somewhere.

My patriots mock in the first two rounds:

22. Mike Iaputi - Graham, Hughes and Kindle were off the board whilst Bryant and Odrick were still there. Iaputi is a long term nfl starter, BB believes in building from the interior out and I just think that a first round pick has to be a safe bet.

44. Tyson Alualu - Just seems like a Patriot type player. Good intangibles and a strong work ethic.

47. Ricky Sapp - With the elite pass rushers/OLB's gone, Sapp seems the best possibility to provide an ears-back pass rush.

53 - Corey Wootton - A Willie McGinest type. Again I like the intangibles and he feel he can at worst become a backup DE should he fail or become too big for OLB.

Wow, can't agree on this one. Iupati strikes me as the precise opposite of the Pats OL profile: massive and powerful but slow-footed. (And for the ultimate reverse image, compare Logan Mankins' Wonderlic of 31 to Iupati's 13.)

That would indeed be a great draft...except for Dez. There is no way he is on the Patriots draft board nor do the Patriots really needs him after signing Holt; I know that all you draftnics on the board are now screaming like the Sabine Virgins but I'll bet that Holt has a better year than Dez. The only good thing about drafting Dez would be that Felger would have someone new to pick on that may actually deserve it (i.e. get him off Moss' case; Moss is a boy scout compared to most big receivers out of college). Dez sort of reminds me of Manny Ramirez; he would not go over well with the Boston crowd.

I don't see us taking Hughes. I believe he is represented by Tom Condon. Wasn't he Watson's agent and that BB does not like him very much?

Bryant had a pre-draft visit with the Patriots and Belichick has praised his talent; not sure why you think he's not on their board. I don't understand why you don't think they need a young star at WR. Randy Moss is 34 and will almost certainly be gone next year, Torry Holt is 33 and fading, and Wes Welker may never be the same after his injury. Bryant has the talent to be a replacement for Moss and a top-5 receiver in the league.

His character concerns are mostly overblown, as well. Moss was considerably less of a 'boy scout' coming out of college.

Through consecutive trades with the Cards, Browns and Seahawks, originating with our #22 and #47, we end up with:

#38 - Saffold
#44 - Alualu
#58 - Damian Williams
#60 - Toby Gerhart

Plus (the additional result of said trades):

#85 - Ricky Sapp
#88 - Dennis Pitta
#104 - Dorin Dickerson
#119 - Te'o-Nesheim
#139 - Lonyae Miller
#186 - Blair White

plus, we still have all our original 6th and 7th rounders.
