Default The Fine Points of Game Film (focus on QB/RB positions)

N.F.L. Draft: The Fine Points of Game Film - The Fifth Down Blog - NYTimes.com

Article is by a guy named Matt Waldman.

Quote:
Matt Waldman is a staff writer at Footballguys.com, where he pens The Weekly Gut Check and authors The Rookie Scouting Portfolio, a 740-page film evaluation of 170-plus rookie prospects at quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end.
Rates Dan LeFervour, Ryan Mathews and Toby Gerhart highly. Emphasises decision-making and patience for running backs over measurables, and notes that Laurence Maroney has problems here. Contrasts mobility and manouverability at the QB position, and holds up Brady/Manning/Rivers as shining examples of the latter.

Read the whole article - it's excellent.

It was a good read an made a lot of sence. Near the end he said "Travis Best". I don't see how people are always messing up names like that.

Yeah, I think he meant Jahvid Best since he does have good anticipation and sets up his blocks well.
