You guys are gonna hate my Patriots first two rounds
Sorry
1 - Demaryius Thomas. Great Wunderlich pushes me over the top to take a shot on a guy who has a lot to learn. Hopefully the worst case is he's usable but he has stud potential.
2a - Maurkice Pouncey. C, G, play him wherever, I like him and I think he can help us at either position.
2b - Ricky Sapp. Not sure which pass rusher I want but there seems to be momentum for him making it to this spot and we have to get some pass rush. Pencil in a different OLB if you prefer.
2c - Montario Hardesty. I'm tired of the 4 Horsemen. Hardesty runs hard and came out of the combine looking like a great athlete. He also doesn't have too much wear and tear on him.
I know, 3 out of 4 on offense and no DE. I just couldn't find a DE I liked after Odrick and wanted a little more upside than him at #22.

Re: You guys are gonna hate my Patriots first two rounds
My issue isn't so much the players as the picks; I don't think Thomas goes in the first round, and I believe we could draft him with 44. That said, he's my number one target in this draft (followed by Roberts and Easley), and I think he's just what we're missing in our passing game.
If Pouncey is there in the second, we need to snag him. Good player.
I don't like Sapp for our scheme. Too inconsistent against the run. Still, he's big and quick and has good upside. I just don't know how comfortable I am with the idea of bringing aboard a guy who's been referred to as Crable part II. *shrug*
Hardesty is awesome. Love his aggression. He's also a great pass-catcher who is comfortable lining up wide as a receiver. Good versatility--also, I think his game translates better to the NFL than Spiller's or Dwyer's.
One of these days I need to get around to posting a mock. My last attempt nearly got me laughed off the forum, though, so I'm a little reticent to try again.

Remember that Belichick could tell you his picks, you could post them as your mock and you'd get laughed off the forum. The Patriots don't make conventional picks especially outside the first round so any mock that is conventional is the one that should get laughed at.
Regarding Sapp, I really just want the best LB for our system, I picked him but he's the one guy I picked position over name. The others are players I really want. Sapp, I just want an OLB; I'd actually prefer a big bruiser, I may change this later if I ever settle on an OLB I love.

Maybe not but there's a ton of good players in the draft. I would have picked Charles Johnson but I think he'll be gone. Saffold would work for me too, we have Vollmer for LT, I think we can do better than Kaczur long term at RT. As Brady gets older, protecting him will become more and more important.
Re: You guys are gonna hate my Patriots first two rounds
Thomas is a major risk/reward player. BB usually likes to keep it safer that that, but I'd be up for this pick.
Pouncey probably won't be there at 44. And even if he is, I wouldn't take him. We just resigned Neal for 2 years and we have Ohrenberger in the wings. Koppen won't get benched this year anyway, so this wouldn't be a good use of an early pick at all.
Sapp is one of many OLBs I'd be fine with in the second, including Misi, Worilds, Hughes, and Cunningham.
Hardesty seems like a decent pick. I'd be more interested in Jahvid Best though. He won't be around at 53, but might be there at 44.
Lastly, how can you mock a Pats draft without a TE??????
Re: You guys are gonna hate my Patriots first two rounds
At 22, id be ok with that pick, his upside is tremendous and Moss being here to help him with the nuances of becoming an elite NFL receiver is a big plus.
Pouncey, not in love with it. I think we need to get our OLB, whichever one is the best for our scheme.
I think we end up with one of Hardesty or Ben Tate so im fine with that pick.
I say we go TE with the other second rounder, Dennis Pitta or Gronkowski are possibilities.
