Most obvious absence that I can see from this list is Northwestern DE Corey Wootton.

I consider Wooten a potential 3-4 DE with a lot of run stopping ability.

The Big 10 D Line is stacked, no shame in not being able to bump one of the 4 guys they listed.

When I read Jared Orick's description, it almost sounds like he is describing a 3-4 DE. I have not seen him enough to know for sure, but I like what he says.

Do you think that Adrian Clayborn could bulk up to 3-4 DE, or is he more of a 4-3 guy?

I like Wootton a lot. I haven't seen much of Jared Odrick.

I see Clayborn strictly as a 4-3 DE.

I like Wooten a lot as a 3-4 DE, provided he is healed from his injury.

I see several DE prospect that fit the Patriot type DE's and could potentially be drafted by us:

1.) Wooten (If healthy)
2.) Oghobaase (If BB does pick a kid from a losing program)
3.) Odrick (Tough against the run)
4.) Carrington (Developmental small school candidate from Arkansas State, but plays the run well and can get after the QB through double teams.)

Many would include Carlos Dunlap in this group, but I still think that if we drafted Dunlap and got his head screwed on straight and dropped his weight to the 270-275 pound range, he would be a great 3-4 OLB and still run in the 4.5 to 4.6 range.
The problem is that he grew up in such a nasty terrible place in North Charleston SC, and still hangs around with a nasty posse; that getting him to drop the bad habits and posse may be a lost cause. (IE: Pacman Jones)

I don't think Dunlap is remotely suited to be a 3-4 DE. I like a number of players much more. I agree that Dunlap could be an amazing 3-4 OLB at 270-275 lbs. if he could keep his weight there, but I suspect we'd go with more of a sure thing if we go that route in the 1st round. If Dunlap or Greg Hardy somehow slip to the 2nd I'd be all for giving them a shot.

What do you think of Cameron Heyward from Ohio St. as a 3-4 DE, or Allen Bailey from Miami?

Bailey I think is a pure 4-3 player.

Heyward - I like his game but I do not see BB being interested in him. The Ohio State defense is a true one gap penetrating defense that is very different from ours and BB does not usually draft Ohio State kids, in part because it is too great a projection.
