Default Will Blackmon? Boston College? CB/WR

http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sco...lblackmon.html

Well my dad has had season tickets to Boston College my entire life, so I've seen a lot of Blackmon over the past few years. He's a very good corner back, and also turned out to be the leading Wide Reciever for BC. He would be a great asset on Special Teams. I'd love to see him drafted by the Pats but this is coming from a major BC/Pats fan.

Default Never impressed

I have had season tickets for years and I have always thought he was very overrated. I think he was an OK CB but nothing special - there has been a lot of hype- and as a WR I think he is too much of a showboat. He tries to make one handed catches when he can - and should - use two. I think he will be able to play in the NFL - he is very athletic - but if anyone takes him in the 1st or 2nd round I think it would be a mistake.

I agree if he goes in the 1st or 2nd, that would be a mistake. However just for his return skills alone, I think the Pats would be well served taking him in the third. It's hard to project how good a CB he would be if he played CB 100% of the time. The speed looks good, but the change of direction (hips) and zone coverage skills are hard to assess.

Senior Bowl Practice wasn't kind to Blackmon. Supposedly was getting burned left and right.

He doesn't have the coverage skills to play corner in the NFL and doesn't have the hands to play receiver. He'll be a good return man, but that's not worth the pick. Let another team take him.

And I'm a BC kid.

Default Ouch Brutal Blackmon review

I have not seen any Senior bowl practices, but if they are reporting that Blackmon is getting lit up, then I understand why BC moved him to receiver.

I still like his return skills.

I'd love to see this guy in a Pats' uniform if he's still around in the 4th round. At the very least, he can be a valuable return man and gunner. He also might be big and physical enough to play S. BC isn't know for producing DBs. And one of the reasons might be their coaching staff. If he's got all the intangibles that the scouting reports claim he has, I'm sure the Pats' coaching staff can find a position for him. I'm curious as to why he's playing CB in the Sr Bowl though. I would have thought he'd be playing WR.

people are underestimating his 40 speed, its going to be 4.35-4.42 range not in the 4.5s. Also i think that due to his athleticism he is going to perform well at the combine and that will put him in the 1st or 2nd rounds of the draft. If you look at Stanford Routt from Houston who was taken by the Raiders in the 2nd round it was because of his speed and atleticism, not because of anything he did during his time at Houston. Someone will have taken him before the end of the 2nd...

I agree he would be a great local story I know his father.
