Yes, he's a little erratic... and yes, he really needs some work on his mechanics. The good news is that he's smart and he's teachable. He's not a Sanchez/Ryan/Flacco who will start from Day One. He's a work in progress who can help in certain situations for two or three years before he's ready to play full time.

- Since when is having a quarterback who can make plays with his legs considered a bad thing? And how many are better equipped to handle it than Tebow? But at the same time, I'm pretty sure he won't be running as often or in the same manner at the next level.
I do not think the WR's are the problem, I think it is the routes and patterns are horrible and lack sophistication. Because of that Tebow is pulling the ball down and running rather than risk throwing it into small windows.

But don't tell sbpatfan, the mensa candidate/rocket scientist/brain surgeon/douchebag that he is..........
You really want to put the two Irishmen in that company? McNair was a freaking MVP of the league, and as primarily a passer. McNabb is also definitly a pass-first quarterback.

*shrug*

More or less the same routes and patterns that Harvin and Murphy were running last year, right?

On some of the base plays maybe, and maybe for Murphy, but they were really creative in the different things they did for Harvin.

And I don't see that creativity this year, plus last years running attack appeared more effective which brought 8 and 9 to the box (ie: the Ole Miss game)

This year I see the Z WR running a ton of go routes and the X WR running mostly very basic slants, curls and buttonhooks.

Most of the crossing routes seem to be run by the TE's.

If Florida is running any combination routes as in previous years they are so badly out of whack, I can't tell that they are combination routes.

The scheme seems very limiting to me and I think opposing defenses have adjusted to it. They may not have the personnel to stop Florida, but they know what is coming.

Seriously, Tebow's play of late should put to rest any hope of Tebow playing NFL QB. If any team drafts him sooner than the 3rd or 4th round, they're crazy.

His decision making is really shaky lately, he's not leading his team on long drives to seal games, his throwing still sucks.

Down the field he's inaccurate, his motion is too long on short passes, and he's taking a lot more sacks lately despite having a good amount of time to make a decision.

I seriously don't know if Florida will be able to take down Bama and/or Texas with him playing this way. If the Gator's D has a bad game, they're effed. Luckily, their D has been lights out all season.

South Carolina used Norwood as a "spy" last night and forced Tebow to beat them with his arm. And he did throwing 3 TD passes. But if South Carolina had anything resembling a QB, then South Carolina wins that game.

I think a lot of Tebow's problems in the passing game are scheme oriented and mechanical. He looks run first and then pass second and that screws up the read progression.

Bottom line is Tebow has a chance to show scouts he can be a drop back passer in the all star games and if he does not get it done there, then his draft position will be a disappointment in terms of where he thinks he should go.

I didn't see the game, but that's interesting. How did Norwood look?
