#23 - Rey Maualuga, ILB (with Beatty and Britton off the board)
#34 - Conner Barwin, OLB
#47 - Jarron Gilbert, DE
#58 - Gerald Cadogan, OT
#89 - Andy Levitre, OG
#97 - Nic Harris, S
#124 - Mike Gibson, WR
Quite a decent mock overall. Given that both OT's are off the board, I'm quite content with the first 3 picks. I would trade up from #58 for a S (Louis Delmas goes 50 and William Moore 55; Patrick Chung is gone at 37 in their mock), or take Chip Vaughn at 89 (who they have unrealistically lasting until 113). I don't like the Harris pick. But not bad overall.

Thrilled with the first two picks. But the way they have the draft unfolding, I'd like for them to grab a CB and/or S with one or both of those final second round picks.
#23 - Rey Maualuga, ILB
#34 - Conner Barwin, OLB
#47 - Jarron Gilbert, DE
As usual, I mentally rearrange the picks and come away happy as a clam. Gilbert at 23, a little early but he wouldn't last long. Barwin's still around at 34, awesome. And at 47, Maualuga's solid value.
My bad. They had Brandon Gibson. I keep having Mike Wallace on the brain, and wrote it down wrong.

Maualuga, after reading this stuff, seems like a very questionable pick in the first round. No doubt that he is capable of playing football at the college level, but so can Vontae Davis.
“Chart how many times he is on the ground,” one longtime evaluator said, “and you will see why I think he will always struggle in the pros. He had so much talent around him — that defense may be as talented as I’ve ever seen in college. It covers up a lot of mistakes.”
"often struggles to break down in the open field and gets caught out of position by taking false steps"
"showed poor judgement"
"need for Maualuga to be closely monitored"
"Keith Rivers and Cushing were deliberately assigned to be his roommates on the road to provide the stability he needed to stay out of trouble."

I'd be happy if the Pats passed on Rey and went with Alex Mack or Moreno. Kenny Britt in the second round would be nice, with Gilbert and Barwin/TD Lang/Alphonso Smith to follow.

This is another fine mock for us. Vaughn at 97 instead of Harris and we'd have a very fine dradt indeed, although Mayo would need to call the defensive plays.
I think that both Gilbert and Vaughn will be drafted much higher.

Just a bit stange is all I can say, smilie or not. I guarantee Maualuga won't get past 12 unless Denver trades out. ()
