Arrow New Era Scouting 3-round mock

New Era Scouting Archive Three round mock draft

Quote:
23. New England Patriots: Larry English DE/OLB Northern Illinois
34. New England Patriots: Louis Delmas S Western Michigan
47. New England Patriots: Pat White QB/WR West Virginia
58. New England Patriots: Jonathan Luigs C Arkansas
89. New England Patriots: Rashad Jennings RB Liberty
97. New England Patriots: Mike Thomas WR Arizona
---

What I find most interesting with the 3-round mocks is the FACT that the Pats can end up with 6 solid players in the top 100. The actual picks are a matter of preference, but when you look closely at the top 100 -- there's an enormous amount of talent available.

I don't think we take Pat White and another WR with the first 6 picks.

No ILB or OT?

Interesting draft. My take:

23 - Larry English is solid, though I prefer Connor Barwin (#41).
34 - with William Beatty off the board, I like the Delmas pick.
47 - too high by far for White. I would jump all over Robert Ayers here (#62) if he somehow lasted this long, which he won't.
58 - I'm OK with Luigs, though I would prefer Wood (#50) and might trade up to get him.
89 - Troy Kropog (#87) would be a nice pick if we could get him. Otherwise I'd probably trade this into 2008 if the draft had gone this way so far.
97 - I'd go for one of the athletic NT prospects - Chris Baker or Sammie Lee Hill; then Mike Wallace WR at 124. Thomas is a nice player, but too much in the Welker mold.

Totally agree, it's a great draft except of the puzzler of White. He's lousy value there too, passing up the likes of Eric Wood, Clint Sintim, Darius Butler, and...holy smokes, Robert Ayers! I'll take Wood & Ayers over White & Luigs, and take my choice of English & Ayers as OLB & SILB.

It's like they read my mind!

The Pat White pick does stick out as odd, but the rest is PERFECTAMUNDO!

I see the names of Chris Baker and Sammie Lee Hill thrown around alot. Why? I watch alot of football, study alot of tape, keep up with current draft insider info. Aren't these guys more undrafted free agent types? I doubt either could make our practice team. I must be missing something. That doesn't mean they won't be steals-I just don't see where this all started.

New era scouting has a pretty realistic looking mock. I like most of the players they list. I think they have a good understanding of the types pf players that Pat's prefer. Mike Thomas is a very realistic selection for Pats system. Pat White is starting to climb a lttle higher than I would go for him. His value will end up being early 2 by draft time. Who doesn't like Engish-Delmas early on. I nteresting to see Coach B. working so closely with UCONN players. Probable rd 2 types. Gaging value*for #34.

Delmas supposedly has a 15 wonderlic score I don't see that appealing to BB.
