After a summer filled with speculation, it appears that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is finally close to a new contract, and just in time for the regular season.
The two sides apparently spent the weekend finalizing the details, with WEEI breaking the news this morning of the deal being "imminent". According to the Boston Herald the deal is worth $58-million, and is for three years. This is also in addition to the $6-million he's already set to earn this season.
There hasn't been a full confirmation yet from anyone within the organization or from Brady's side, but according to the newspaper a deal could be in place within the next 24 hours.
We'll have more on this developing story as it becomes available.
