Albert Breer of the Boston Globe reported on Monday that the Patriots and first round draft choice Devin McCourty's people at PlayersRep, led by Andy Simms, have reportedly been engaged in dialogue on a contract on a daily basis for more than two weeks now.
According to Breer some ground has been covered and both sides to hope to have McCourty in camp when the club opens its' practices to the public on July 29 - which is when the team starts its full-squad work. He points out that the sticking point in these talks is the option bonus, which according to other news sources has been the bone of contention that other first round picks are having with their deals.
