Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports that punter Zoltan Mesko has agreed to a four-year deal with the Patriots.
According to the report that deal includes a signing bonus of more than $187,000. Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe reports that the deal is for $1.977 million with "standard rookie escalators on the back end" of the deal.
Mesko becomes the fifth draft choice to agree to a contract for the Patriots. For now Mesko is the only punter on the roster, and reports so far have been extremely positive for the charasmatic rookie. He's been booming punts in practice, and has also done well during other special teams drills.
Fans will finally get a chance to see him in person when training camp opens next month on July 29th.
